@Nel13:  I always thought it was standard bridesmaid duty to carry your train – or is that just me?

@Nel13:  While I am constantly annoyed at the expectations of brides for their bridesmaids here on this website, I think THIS is a completely reasonable request. I would carry your train as a bridesmaid and do it happily.

@fauxpas2012   I am constantly annoyed by people on this site that seem to believe that bridesmaids have no responsibilities at all to the Bride other than to show up and stand up with the couple. And that brides become unnecessary named bridezillas  when they have expectations of being on time and supportive.

Have someone hold it, or you can add a wrist loop and hold it yourself, although you’d need someone to spread it out before walking down the aisle!

I asked my bridesmaids to carry my train when we were walking outside taking pictures. Totally normal! And the parasol idea is so cute!

The parasol is a great idea and definitely asking someone to carry your train is a good thing to plan ahead. Asking a bm, moh, and /or attendant to assist you would be a great idea 🙂

I had about a 1/4 mile trek through the “woods” to my ceremony site.  I had a wrist loop put in specifically so I could carry it myself, and the bridesmaids STILL insisted on helping me hold the dress up.  I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all.

@Nel13:  Do you have a maid of honor? The maid of honor usually carries the dress. Having a parasol to hide your face is a great idea. I am planning on using parasols in my wedding as well.
