onthefritz:  There was a cat near where I used to live called Alan, which delighted me.

Also my friend’s cat is called Willow, but is referred to exclusively as Belly Monster. And a girl I used to work with has a boy rabbit called Gloria.

Our cats are Rupert and Pete. We get a lot of laughs when people hear their names, especially Rupert. But it’s so fitting for them. We like human names. Any future kitties will be named Phillip and Louie.

My parents have a cat named Fatface, I started called him that when we was born cause he was ALWAYS eating and pushing the other kittens out of the way. They weren’t going to keep him but no one wanted him so they did. And the name Fatface stuck. His mama was named Bunny, kinda same story. He fur reminded me of bunny fur so I just called her that, again we weren’t going to keep her but… lol

I don’t have any interestingly named pets myself, but I’ve spent my whole life working with animals so I’ve come across some interesting ones. There was one that I will always remember and wonder about the back story: Shit Biscut. Everytime I saw it come up in the computer I would just wonder, why???

My dogs name is Isabel Daniella Katerina but I kid you not she prefers to be called Katerina

FIs dogs name is Lexus because the previous owner always wanted a Lexus and could never afford one, but could now say he had a Lexus

I have no interesting names to share, I think. My Doxie girl is named Jessie, Turner the Basset boy, Trixie the Chihuahua Pinscher mix girl, Maggie the Boston terrier and Zoey our youngest Boston terrier.

I prefer giving human names. When we rescued Maggie, her name was Laa-Laa! I could not believe her name and for three days after I got her called names at her till she responded to one and that was Maggie, it really suits her. No offence to Telytubby fans, it’s just not the name for my beautiful girl!

When we rescued our dog, he had the name Max, and Darling Husband liked it because he could call him Max Power so it stuck. My Father-In-Law forgot Max’s name one day and asked us how Alan was doing, so we call him that sometimes. And Darling Husband sometimes calls him Batman because he has dark fur around his eyes which look like a mask. Max likes being called Batman.  Also, he is referred to as a Gentleman because he likes to sit with his paws crossed. (This is him squeezing himself into his tiny bed)

onthefritz:  No pets for Fiance and I right now, but we already have our names picked out. We want a pug named Buscemi (after Steve Buscemi) and two boy cats named McFly and Mr. Feeney.

My friend’s dog is DJ SassyPants, but they call him DJ–and I just find that name remarkable.

I forgot to mention my cat I had when I was a teenager,  Little fat kitty that’s her actualy name not just a nickname.

She still lives with my mom and is still little and fat even after being put on numerous diets. We found out recentlythe reason she has never lost weight is that she was just opening the cupboard and stealing food right from the bag, she got caught red handed (pawed?) when my moms boyfrined came home for lunch one day haha

I have three dogs a.k.a ‘children’, a female Jack Russel named Jill (I usually call her Madam Fifi, she is seriously the Queen Bee around the house), a male Jack Russel named Jeremy (He goes by the name Fatty or Germ, he is by far the largest JR that I have ever seen and we really do monitor his food intake and take him on regular walks, but he remains around the 11kg mark) and my real baby is my Golden Retriever, her registered name is Voxcreek W McKinley but at home we call her Athena – I mostly call her Sussie (in South Africa Sussie is an Afrikaans word, it means Sister, don’t ask me why I call her that, hahahaha, one day I just started calling her “Sussie” and it stuck).

I also had a cat, I got him when I was around 10 yrs old and had him for 15 years and we were the best of friends, his name was Claude.  Claude came home as a teeny tiny kitten and was promptly named Clara-Bell, much to my dismay at his first set of vaccinations we were informed that Clara-Bell was actually a boy kitty, so after much deliberation Clara-Bell became Claude

My chiweenie is Dora. The variations of my nicknames for her led her to only answer to “Boats and Ho’s.” Dora=Doey=Doh-doh=Boats and Ho’s.

And yes, I totally sing the Step Brothers music video, “Gotta have me some boats and ho’s!”
