hello beehive,
have you had to sign any contracts which say stuff like "client allows photography/video studio to use images/footage from their wedding in any and all promotional materials"?
i’m ok with limited use of my image (like on their website is ok), but i still want to maintain some privacy (so as their poster girl in an ad campaign is not ok).
have you been succesful in getting your photographer/videographer to limit their use, or change the blanket statement?
thanks!

My photographer was very willing to let me change the agreement…though his is fairly limited. For the most part they are interested in getting permission to put your photos on their website so that they don’t have to worry about using your photos to promote themselves. But I think you should just talk to the photographer/videographer about your specific concerned. I’d be fairly surprised if your wanting a more restrictive privacy agreement was a dealbreaker for them.

My photographer’s my friend (she’s also a professional–how lucky am I, right?!?!), and I’m her graphic/web designer, so I know EXACTLY what is going into her promo materials/website b/c I have a lot of that control! Hehe! We don’t have a contract for that, though, but I am okay with having my images used.
