I’ve been using mineral makeup since last year, but it is expensive and I have to use a lot of it to get it to work for me. Also, it seems to dry out my skin and make it super-oily. So, although I was hesitant because of my past experiences with drugstore foundation (orange, cakey, not enough coverage, etc.), I decided to try out a new one that I happened to walk past at Target: Rimmel Lasting Finish 25-Hour Foundation.
It’s great! It only cost $7.14 (for 1 fl oz), it smells good, and it doesn’t come off easily. My eye watered today and the water didn’t carve a path in my makeup like it would with other liquid foundations. I’ve also only had to powder my face once, and I’ve had my makeup on for almost 7 hours. Usually I look like I’ve dipped my face in motor oil if I don’t powder at least once every 2-3 hours. It covers quite well too, although I put my mineral concealer on top of it to make my blemishes completely invisible.
The only problem is that it doesn’t quite match my skin tone. At least it’s not gross and orange, but it doesn’t match because I have really fair skin with pink/purple undertones. (But this makeup, unlike others, doesn’t make my acne scars look like I have a flesh-eating disease…hooray!) I probably won’t choose it for my wedding day just because of the color issue (unless somehow I’m really tan by then), but I love it and I figured I’d recommend it. Has anyone else tried it?
