Higher. Thats all i know. I dont know the amount though.

If it was significantly lower, i would be gutted because that basically means you were ripped off.

Mine was way higher! I had an heirloom stone, but even if my Fiance had paid for that, it still appraised probably $2,000-3,000 over what it would be Surprised

Mine appraised for $10,000 over what we paid. Obviously, Fiance got a killer deal on the center stone!

It’s SUPPOSED to appraise at higher than what you paid, from what I understand.  My friend’s Darling Husband said her ring was appraised for 2x what he paid and everyone else (there were 3 other girls with rings there at the time) agreed that their rings were appraised for more than what was paid.  I don’t have a ring yet, but I figured I’d tell you that 4 of my friends had their rings appraised for more than what they were worth, up to 2x the amount.

Appraised higher, over twice the actual cost, which is normal for insurance purposes.

yup mine appraised for almost double what he paid. which makes me really happy cuz i thought the amount he paid surely had to mean my diamond was not good quality, even though its looks, as well as the specifications, make it seem like it shouldve cost twice as much. so i think he found the best stone at the best price.

Mine was over what he paid, but almost right on with the “sticker” price.

You can typically sell a diamond ring for 25%-%75 of the appraisal but most often less than half.
