Honestly, I wouldn’t over-think this.  Diamonds, gold, and platinum are all durable and will easily withstand pretty much anything your hand will normally do.  If it gets dirty, clean it.  Get it inspected for damage once or twice a year.  And enjoy.

I know other Bees disagree, but I would not take it off when you wash your hands or sleep.  That is the most likely way to lose it.  I’ve never had a ring come off in my bed, but I have heard of lots of women – including Bees on this board – who have lost their rings when they forget to put it back on after washing their hands.  I’ve also heard of rings going down drains, being knocked over by cats, and mysteriously disappearing.  As long as mine is on my finger, I know where it is, and it is safe.

Your ring is beautiful. 🙂 To keep it sparkly, clean it 1-2x (or even daily if you like). I soak my ring in a mixture of hot water with a squirt of dishwashing soap for about 15 minutes, and then scrub it with a baby toothbrush. Wash off all the soap with warm/hot water, dry thoroughly with a lint free towel and your ring will be sparkling like new! Also take it to your jeweler once every 6 months to get it professionally cleaned and have the prongs checked.

I usually take my rings off when cooking/showering/sleeping/doing housework. You don’t have to do that since your ring is sturdy, but it’s a further step to baby your ring. Keep your rings safe by having one or two designated places in your house for leaving your rings. That way, it’s hard to misplace them!

Agreed ^^^

i don’t mind if my rings get dirty, I can always clean them. I will take mine off when I shower and when I put lotion on, but that’s about it.

I take my rings off when I come home and it goes in its box in the jewelry drawer.  I often don’t wear it on weekends (cleaning, dog park) but if we are going out I definitely wear it.

I have never misplaced my ring since I have a designated jewelry drawer.  It goes in there immediately. I also don’t sleep with it on (I did once and scratched myself on the face), and also in the past I have had rings come off at night.  Not sure if I fidget or not, but to me it’s not worth the trouble when you can so easily drop it in the box before bed.

I would not wear it exercising or doing any cleaning, or when you’re lifting anything at all.

Other than that, as PP said, it’s pretty durable.  I would decrease the amount of opportunities as possible to scratch the gold band (lifting weights, cleaning, handling a lot of stuff).
