It’s a beautiful ring!! Keep it as a wedding band! Congratulations on your engagement!

Is it the ring with a slightly bigger centerstone? I don’t think that it is supposed to be a wedding band? Isn’t that an engagemant ring!?

Otherwise all the stones would be the same size! 🙂 It is gorgeous but if you use it with another engagemant ring it will look like you have two “solitaires” (as in a band with a bigger stone, is that what they are called?) on your finger?

I vote use this as your engagment ring and then get something that traditionally looks like an engagement ring (so larger center stone) to wear as your wedding ring. Basically switch the order you get them in. Then you don’t lose the sentimentality by returning the ring he proposed with.

It’s my dream to have the serena! They have beautiful jewelry. If I were you I would just try to gently bring it up. Mention that this was the wedding band that is supposed to match whatever catbird ring you would like. If he can’t afford it I would offer to pay or just got with a simple moissanite or something less expensive?

I say keep this one (I <3 Catbird BTW) and get another of their rings (maybe more of an engagement style) to use complete the wedding set!

bibilicious :  anything with a larger center is meant as an engagement ring and would look awkward as a wedding band. Personally I’d pair that with an all metal jacket style wedding band.

soo I’m about to be extremely unpopular here but…. HOLY COW they have overpriced rings! over $7000 for a ring with a 0.5 carat H color center stone, and $4000 for a .25 carat solitaire? What the actual……??? I mean I can see how people like the “handmade” feeling about the rings but THE PRICE! I’m thinking he probably spent the price of an engagement ring on your ring but that brand is extremely expensive. He could get a decent size diamond on James Allen or Blue Nile spending much less.

melihbee :  I agree with you. I’m quite certain Digby and Iona is all handmade too and look what you get from the for just under $6000, compared to .5ct for $7000 https://digbyandiona.com/all-mine-nico

bibilicious :  I thought the same! Pretty sure it is an engagement ring. I would keep it, it’s beautiful… or return completely if you want a bigger stone and go to James Allen, etc like other bees have suggested

melihbee :  thank you! I was SHOCKED at the price on those rings! I wonder if her sweet guy wanted to get her what she wanted but had to be reasonable with his purchase.

It’s a pretty ring but I agree either the others, the prices are ridiculous for the size of the rings. That may have been all he can afford?

I personally would love that ring. I think it’s beautiful. I sometimes wished DH and gotten me a different e-ring but I really didn’t want to hurt his feelings. I know he did it with love. I hadn’t given him guidance on what I wanted. I really enjoyed being involved in choosing the wedding band. Maybe you can find a ring to go with the ring he gave you that would be something you would want?

“I’m a very un materialistic person”

I don’t think this is as true as you think it is.
