@VictorianChick:  What are the things your are looking for? Perhaps you just need a few more sets of eyes looking with you?

What’s your budget- are you looking for just a setting or for the whole package?

Let us help you look!

@tisposeroperche:  I agree! Look at the bands with stones to see if that gives you the effect you want!

The size difference in carat you’re thinking about isn’t much of a difference.  I often thought of going from what I have, 1.35 to a 1.5 but the difference wouldn’t be worth it.

Hmm. I do see a difference between .5 and .7. The .2 difference is more apparent in stones < 1 carat. Get what you want, I don’t see that there would be an enormous $ increase. A jeweler might be able to make a setting similar to the one you like.

@VictorianChick:

From Etsy Seller Rare [email protected]$1,156.00 for the setting only (no center stone)

This setting is a Tacori that has a “buy it now” price of 3k, so it might be  out of your range if you can’t get them to lower it. But I think it looks amazing and wanted to include it. Seller is here

This semi-mount is from overstock.com and is 2k.

This is from engagmentringsdirect.com.  Link HERE. It’s 2200 not including the center stone

@VictorianChick:  Why is he opposed to you chipping in? Unless you’re keeping your finances totally separate after marriage, it will all be “our” money pretty soon anyway, so what’s the diff? I fell in love with a ring that was more than my now-husband’s budget, and at first he objected to me kicking in. But I asked him “when we’re married, if I want to spend $xxx on something that will make me happy, are you going to be upset?” He said no, of course not. So I asked him, well why can’t I do that now? He laughed and told the salesman “we’ll take this one.” I look at my ring a dozen times a day and love it each and every time.

I highly recommend Brilliant Earth, their customer service is excellent. I wanted a unique stone (light brown/champagne sapphire) and they worked with my fiance to get one for me, and it’s perfect! They have quite decent prices, this one is $1675 for the setting:

You might even consider an alternative stone, if you like blue. Here’s someone who did this with an aquamarine:
