Since engagement became a probability in our relationship, I’ve definitely become more attuned to noticing other women’s e-rings. I don’t get jealous when I see engagements and such on Facebook, but I totally get ring envy while I’m waiting for mine!
Also I’m in the NYC area where many women, including my social circle, have 1.5+ center stones and sometimes I can’t help wishing that I was getting the same. Not because we can’t afford it, but I decided to go for less carats because I have tiny hands and it would look disproportionate. I have to remember that my ring will look just as blingy on my skinny finger!
Any other waiting Bees get the same feeling while waiting?

I totally know how you feel as I went through the same thing – I love diamonds and bling and rings now – and for the whole time I was waiting for a proposal and ring, going on blue nile, brilliant earth, james allen, browsing ring pics on this site and instagram were a daily ritual (sad but true story). I also loved trying on my friends rings and going ring shopping!
Also I think you have the right attitude – the size of the ring matters most in terms of HOW it looks on YOUR hand, it doesn’t matter what other people have but more what you think looks good. Some gals love the massive bling on their tiny hands and some think it’s disproportionate!
Excited for you and the day you get your ring 😀

@Jewelieee: I’m definitely noticing peoples’ erings more now, even strangers. Like when I’m sitting in traffic and see a woman driving out of the corner of my eye…and the sun is reflecting off her blingy left hand…and mine is still naked…haha.

@Jewelieee: I totally understand. I feel like when I go just about anywhere, I’m looking at other women’s hands. all the while in my mind wishing it was on my finger.

@Jewelieee: OMG I know what you mean! I made a list of favorite rings a month or so ago and since then I can’t stop looking! What’s worse is that my boyfriend has purchased my ring and I know he has it (he doesn’t know I know), but he hasn’t proposed yet. So now, not only am I anxious for the proposal, but I’m finding all these rings I like better as I wait!

I hear you! everywhere I look engagement rings are shining (on TV, on the Tram, clients, shopping centres) and women are flashing their beautiful rings at me. Sometimes I find myself looking at them and hoping the woman doesnt notice and think I am some weirdo! Funny how I never noticed them before. it does make me feel as though my finger is naked though for sure 🙁 But good things come to thoes that wait… or so I hear 🙂

Hehe glad I’m not the only one! I’ll be sitting at a restaurant for brunch or dinner, see the woman at the next table with a huge sparkly, and be trying to figure out how many carats. I’m just a jewelry person so of course I would be happy if he proposed with like a twist tie but I’m excited for the ring too!

@Jewelieee: I second the twist tie!!
