It’s pretty but not a wow ring tbh.  I think it looks more like a cocktail ring.

It looks pretty in the pic but if it’s looking dull in real life I’d be concerned. I’d say it’s due to the cut and size. Mine is a smaller round brilliant and looks like it has a life of its own it’s so bright and sparkly! Exchange it for something else.

Honestly I was let down by my round from them as well. I’m pretty sure I can see windowing into the middle. But I’m in canada and known returns for me suck so I basically just ate the loss. I still think the ring itself is very pretty. I wish I had gone with a c&c stone or at least maybe a different cut. Comparing it from a cheap cz earring to a diamond it looks more like the cz.

missjabbee :  Which kind of round from them did you get? I see you say it was not a C&C stone and I know they are not offering their own unbranded certified h&a stones anymore.Do you mind posting pics?

Following because I’m considering a MoissaniteCo stone as well! I’m leaning toward an elongated cushion though. I want something that looks the most like a diamond, and it appears round is the clear winner, I just don’t love them on me!

redearthlady :  I just checked their website and it looks like they do still offer their brand of these stones, in every shape also!

hissoon :  The moissanite co brand stones offered now are different. The stones I am referring to are the Certified Unbranded h&a stone graded and certified by Imagem. These stones were sold by Moissanite Co in 2016 early 2017 before C&C started selling their h&a cut and came in colorless or near colorless. They sold them until all the quanity sold out. Then the only carried F1 h&a until the end of 2017 they launched their own brand. They have their own line of stones now. The round is marketed as round brilliant but not specified if it has h&a cut. I do own one of the Moissanite Co branded stones as well but it’s an antique cushion.

The H&A cut, while beautiful and best for diamonds, doesn’t work equally well for moissanite. And there is no reason that it should – they are two different materials. I think this is why so many H&A cut moissies look glassy – there is a lack of light play and movement in the stone (aka scintillation.)

The traditional RB cut (if you can find a well cut stone) really brings out the beauty of moissanite and avoids that glassy appearance. Fireandbrilliance.com offers graded F1 moissanite – pay particular attention to axial, table and girdle symmetry – they should all be excellent. Also pick a stone with brilliance ratings in the 150 to 170, sparkle at least in the 90’s and intensity in the 300’s.  I also think that a G-H colour stone vs a D-E-F will help make it look less glassy.

If H&A cut is really important than I would go for an Amora Gem Eterntiy. Yes, they’ve gone through a few cuts to get here and they may yet change again but so have diamond cuts changed. Betterthandiamond.com has invested in experienced gem cutters, cut modelling software and robotic cutting. I’ve seen the Eternity and it’s a really gorgeous stone!
