After our successful trips to meet both sets of parents and the approval doled out by parents and siblings, we could get back to the rings. So here they are in a preliminary photo!! I didn’t want to have a diamond solitaire so we looked at different options but couldn’t decide. The only think we knew is that it had to be round and we liked the halo rings.
We decided to look into our birthstones. Mine is diamond (which really didn’t help) and his was a blue topaz. So we created our ring. Our jeweller was wonderful even going so far as to find us an untreated blue topaz as opposed to a white topaz heat treated to make it blue which is how it’s commonly made.
So I guess now I just got to sit around and wait to be asked….I liked it better when we were still looking at rings!

and i agree, it’s better when you’re talking about the ring than waiting for it to be handed over! i used to think it would be so much easier once i knew the boy had the ring and was ready and just waiting to propose at the right moment, but then it got so much harder now that i know it’s in the house!

That is my dream ring! FH wanted to go the traditional route with a diamond but I so wanted blue topaz (my birthstone too!) to be incorporated…Alas, no dice…Oh well, yours is so pretty!
