Hi everyone. I’m new here as this is my first posting. I’ve been reading a lot of posts on here for the past couple of months.
I think I found this photo on here. It’s my absolute dream engagement ring…
My partner and I have been discussing our future and he wants to know what I like so when he does propose it’s perfect. My problem is…I don’t know ANYTHING about rings. I just need help indicating what exactly this style would be called? How would it be described to a jeweler? I just don’t want him to struggle if I just show him a photo, ya know?
Thank you for the help! :))

@ashmareve: congratulations on your upcoming proposal and welcome to the bee!!
That ring is beautiful and very feminine! The cut is (probably) oval and the stones around It are known as a halo. It looks like there are a couple of slightly larger sidestones in there too. Halos are very popular and are a great way of adding abut more bling, not to mention ‘padding out’ a slightly smaller centre stone.
Have you checked out any other cuts of stone? I suspect if you like oval then you might also like cushion cut, especially the elongated cushions which will also have the soft rounded corners.
what kind of stone are you thinking? There are plenty of different clear stones to choose from apart from diamond that suit every budget 🙂

That is very unique. It looks to be a halo with small sidestones…

After a google search, and going through three pinterest boards, here’s the original post:
My Rose Gold Oval Diamond Engagement Ring
It’s a custom design in rose gold, but I’m sure you could have something made that is similar.

an oval stone with a halo is the best way to describe it i think.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply! It’s much appreciated.
@Corgi-cariad – I was definitely thinking moissanite or something. My partner is beginning medical school soon and I’m still a student so budget friendly is definitely the key here 🙂
