I wanted an inscription (a particular one) but it wouldn’t fit in my ring design because of the way the shank is made (partially hollow).

It would fit in my partner’s ring, but his is tungsten so it’s harder to find someone to engrave it, since they have to use a laser.

We just ordered our wedding bands. We got engraving on the inside. They should be shipped tomorrow. I am excited!

His ring says  “I do. November 2, 2014”

Mine says, “I do too. November 2, 2014”

BurlapnLace:  lol! that’s so funny. Glad to know it’s not a dumb idea. I also may get this as a tattoo, for him. I don’t really want to do the whole name/anniversary tattoo thing… so I figured this would be something that was meaningful to us, without being a jinx lol

longtimemrs:  We engraved our wedding bands with our wedding date. My e-ring is not engraved only bc DH didn’t think of it at the time when he was shopping for the ring.

longtimemrs:  My ring is too narrow to engrave  but his says MTB and our wedding date. Practically since the day we met he has said we were meant to be = MTB. And so he’s used the initials MTB a lot when talking about us.

He doesn’t know this since we’ve not really talked about engraving, and I want it to be a surprise, but I was going to put “to the moon and back” on his.

We’re thinking of having ”promise not to stop when I say when” on ours, I’m walking down the aisle to the Foo Fighters Everlong and that’s such a nice line 🙂 We haven’t got our bands yet though so I’m hoping it’ll fit!

Haven’t bought his ring yet, but I plan on engraving the words “I remember you” on the inside. It’s a lyric from one of my favorite jazz standards. The full stanza is:

When my life is through

and the angels ask me to recall

the thrill of them all

I’ll tell them, I remember you

Fiance is a big sci-fi fan so I want to do “I love you” in his and “I know” in mine, but my ring is ~2mm or smaller so I may not be able to engrave mine.

If not, I’m planning on engraving his with our hashtag and wedding date.

longtimemrs:  We just have each other’s first names engraved inside our rings.  Not that interesting or funny, but perfect and classic in my mind : )

RedHeadKel:  How narrow is your ring?  Mine is super thin, 1.7 mm or so, and I was able to send it off to an engraver to have it engraved.  I only have one short word (“Scott”) engraved and it’s prety small, but still!  Maybe you should ask around some more?

Both of our wedding bands will be engraved with you are loved in Gaelic. I am Irish, Scottish and English. My partner is Welsh, Scottish and English.
