Yes, I have ring insurance and I think it is worth it!

Yes, I have ring insurance but it has been a waste of money.

No, However I'd like to get ring insurance.

No, I think it's a waste of money.

Insurance is really worth it IMO but based on pp’s premiums I think I must be overpaying…

I have Jewelers Mutual. I just went with the $0 deductible plan because it was so comparable to ones with a deductible. I pay around $100 a year for about $7000 worth of coverage. I plan on adding both Fiance and my wedding bands to the policy as soon as we get them.

Do it! We got a rider attached to our renter’s insurance and I’m so, so glad we did. It covers my ring anywhere in the world, for loss, theft, or damage. And I’m basically 90% sure that I’ll damage it one day, and I’m glad it’ll be covered.

$100 for an appraisal sounds good, just make sure he’s certified!

i dont have insurance yet, but i had the ring appraised and im going to do it soon. its an extra add on too home or tennents insurance and if your ring is expencive then its totally worth it. it covers EVERYTHING! lost, stolen, broken. imagine if something happend and you didnt have it, eek!

It’s less than $10 per month to protect a $6,500 purchase. If that $10 is going to stop you from saving money for your wedding, the ring was too pricy! Insurance is not a waste of money; if you don’t use it, great; if you suddenly need it and don’t have it, you’ve lost more.

We have insurance on my e-ring (no bands yet) and I’d rather it “be a waste of money” than something to happen to my ring/diamonds and be out all that money! I mean, when you add up stupid stuff like eating out when you could have made your lunch, that latte at Starbucks, whatever, the $100 on insurance is nothing. Seriously, it’s less than $10 a month!

So for less than $2.50 a week, your rings worth $6500 could be insured? Do it!

I plan on getting it because he spent over $3,000 on my ring and the band is $900. I’m paranoid about something happening to it because it has 69 accent diamonds in the band. I worry about one of those falling out. We’ll probably put it on the homeowners.

I have Jewelers Mutual.  He pays over 1k/yr.  We couldn’t add to our home owners for that we had to get a seperate insurance.

If you can purchase another ring when you loose/damage it why get it?

We didn’t have to get our ring appraised.  We just sent the paper work it came with the ring.

Yep…we have a coverage plan with the jewelrs and on our renters insurance…double covered, lol! I think we paid like 200 when we got the rings that covers them for life on sizing and diamonds and such…then It’s like 6 bucks a month extra on our renters insurance….

I think it’s worth it. I’d be devestated if my rings were stolen somehow. I hear of people getting mugged in walmart parking lots every day…I mean yeah, the liklihood is nil, but who knows. I never take mine off as well…and really it didn’t cost us much to get it insured at all. Plus, we are getting married in mexico…I’d be pretty sad if it got taken or lost down there.

it’s absolutely worth it. My set combined is worth about 13,000 dollars and I’m insured for about 180 a year. That covers me if it’s stolen, broken, or lost. No questions asked.

I was freaked out that it took us a week to get insurance on my ering!  There was a lot of paperwork involved as we tried to do it through homeowners but since our home is in DH’s name and we weren’t married yet, it complicated things so we went another route.  And I was nervous as heck!  DO IT!

It’s not about losing it.  I think about getting robbed or mugged (I live in between Ft Lauderdale and Miami, so it’s a possibility!) or just any type of freak accident like a prong coming loose and your diamond falling out.   $100 is worth it!
