@everalwaysrealtrue:  Gorgeous detail! I have my e-ring but I can’t decide on a band and it’s driving me nuts because I want to wear it already! I’m already married lol

Gosh, you are getting it soldered early!

My ring is with my jeweler too. I had it soldered last week and LOVE it (and had it back in a couple days), but decided to size up a bit and remove one of the rings from the soldered part for comfort. I should have them back next week. Sort of works out good though as we are going to San Diego this weekend and I did not want to take them really anyway.

My ring is at the jeweler. I am having my wedding band made to match my e-ring. I am leaving in a week and don’t even know if I will have my rings by then. 🙁 Kinda sad to think I may not have a ring for my wedding.

YES! My little diamond is at the jewellers being turned into a hopefully forever set…origianlly she said it would be 3 weeks for the job, but then later said 4 weeks after cnfirming details etc, although she did say she would do it as quickly as she could. I then bombarded her with neurotic emails about little details I worried I’d forgotten to tell her about, so if she’s particularly vindictive it might take even longer seeing that I was so annoying ha ha!

I still have my wedding band on my left hand finger so I’m not naked or anything, just impatient for my sparkle!

@pigeon-noises:  Ha, I know that feeling! After my recent set, I have sworn to myself “never again”! I have gone through the custom route 2x and it always seems soooo long (and it always seems to take longer than expected originally) and anxiety-filled for me!

I also end up bombarding them with changes or uncertainties and clarifications. As I said, I took my rings in to get resoldered in a different configuration and to resize. I have called to change the size once (the morning after I dropped them off), and then called back unsure about whether I should go back to the original size (the day after that near the end of the day). Their front lady is VERY nice though and talked to me about it before just changing it again, to let me know that it was ultimately up to me as they ALWAYS leave it to customer since some people’s hands change so much over course of day (like mine…I get a full size variation!), and they know their hands best, and so on. So, I stuck to my second size, as I do not want to resize again later since they are eternities and it is not good for them to resize much, and they can put speed bumps in if they end up being too loose. I promised I would not bother them again and she said not to worry at all, anytime. I love my local jewelers!

When I have done work at a greater distance, they have gotten many emails…

Mine went in this morning but I’ll have it back tonight. I’m switching my .50carat diamond for a 1carat moissanite. I can’t wait to have it back.

Mine are at the jewelers being soldered also. I dropped them off last friday and they said it would take a week, but they called last night to say they were ready. Unfortunately I had to work late and couldn’t get the yesterday.Frown I am going tonight after work and I cannot wait! I have felt naked without them.

@RayKay:   oh my god you have comforted me so much! I just cracked and sent the custom jeweller ANOTHER email about sizing….this takes me up to 5 emails with changes/confirming details since may 10th (it’s actually only 4, but I accidently sent one twice lol so I just have looked super crazy ha ha!) i’m terrified she will consider this harrassment, or that i’m unreasonable to work with or something….oh god what if she does? what if i get a cease and desist letter??? what if my rings don’t get made????!!! gaaaah hell, i have too much time on my hands and i am so ridiculously neurotic.

BEES – tell me other people have neurotically harrassed a jeweller before? i apologise in every email, i’m certainly not rude or anything in the messages, but I’m just worried my persistance and size changes will mean she gives up or something….surely they must be used to worried people right? or am i literally, nuts?

I just got my ring back from being sized smaller but it had been gone a week, the first few days were the worst. “Will it be too small? What if they give me the wrong ring? Will it look ok? What if they switch the diamond! I wish I had just sucked it up and kept wearing it. Arggh I miss it so much!” It was 2 hours away and when I went to visit Fiance last Thursday for his birthday I stopped in and asked if it was done, the lady was very nice but obviously irritated because she was busy and said they would call and let us know if it was done. When I dropped it off and the jeweler sized me I actually went back to get sized again because I was afraid it would be too small. So yes, I have neurotically harrassed jewelers and I’m sure they’re used to it haha.

Picked mine up and could not be happier! Good luck to everyone else anxiously waiting. I’m glad I had them soldered. It’s nice that they don’t spin in opposite directions anymore.
