runawayturtl :  I don’t think it’s insulting at all! You’re not insulting the design, it’s just a small flaw in craftsmanship. If they’re good jewelers, they’ll accept that they aren’t always perfect and be willing to make it right. It can’t hurt to ask- just word the email in a friendly way without making accusations or being rude. Reiterate that you like the design, but upon inspecting it for a few days you’re seeing a bit of unsymmetry and are hoping they can offer a solution.

And I think I’d go with both sides deep since that’s the essence of this design and makes it stand apart from a standard rounded band.

I would actually request more texture be done, the long hammer marks are difficult to distinguish. Other then that I think the color gold is very rich and the basket looks fantastic!

when I think of a hammered ring I think of this type of look

Idk if I’m seeing what you’re seeing, but something about the front view does bother me. It looks like a wonky knife-edge. Agree with PPs that if you’re going for that handmade/organic look, it’s best if it comes off more obvious/intentional.

Omg the word is asymmetrical! Wow. I felt that “unsymmetrical” was wrong and autocorrect kept telling me but I just ignored it. How that didn’t click for me even after posting 3 times is beyond me. I promise I’m not a complete idiot 😫
