today I was treated to a glimpse at my (future) engagement ring 🙂 it’s a one carat round brilliant with little baguette side stones… It’s beautiful! We looked at it together inside and it’s perfect, and then we looked at it outside And noticed a slightly bluey-greeny tint in the bright sunlight. Is this normal, and will people comment on it if they see it?
i think it is beautiful but just wanted to check that this is okay?

It has strong blue fluorescence. Google it and learn more.
IMO it’s fine, it can even make I colored diamonds and lower look whiter.
Some people say that fluorescence = potential for cloudiness, but this is very rare.

My ring has blue fluorescence and I love it because of it. It’s an H color diamond so it looks really white in the sunlight.

First, I’ll just disclaim that I’m a diamond newbie. I would go to the forums on pricescope.com to look @ pics of diamonds w/ fluorescence (look for the rockytalky/show me the bling forums). If you want diamond-related help, there are plenty of people who can provide their insights
Just remember though, that diamonds are reflectors/mirrors. If you’re under the blue sky, you diamond will look slightly blue anyways.
Did your diamond come w/ a certificate? If so, what did it say for fluorescence?

Mine is an E color with no fluorescence and it looks blue in sunlight, but it’s just the reflection of the sky. Could be what’s going on with your diamond 🙂
