Try downloading a macro camera app.

The camera isn’t made for macro photos so you won’t be able to get really up close. You can find macro lens attachments on Amazon for pretty cheap.

I have an iPhone XS and this is the closest I can get to my ring, for what it’s worth.

I would suggest getting a macro lens attachment as well. I don’t have the XR, but recently switched to the XS. I noticed that I couldn’t take a photo as close as I wanted without sacrificing photo quality by using the zoom. I was able to get a decent picture with my macro lens attachment though.

I have the XS and don’t have any issues getting up close good quality pics so I’m not sure why the xr would be blurry. I would try what others have suggested and try a macro lens?! Here is a close up of my ring with my iPhone XS, Good luck

I have an XR. I can get pretty close pictures of my ring. I have to use the zoom instead of just putting the camera super close to the ring – I also really need to clean my ring!

I get good photos on mine when I zoom in from about 6 inches away.
