You’re free to do whatever makes you happy, but the tradition in the US is that your wedding band goes on your left ring finger. Some people (like my mom) do wedding ring only, no engagement ring. Doing it the other way around would indeed be strange. But again, whatever makes you happy.

You can wear your rings however you like – that is nothing but appropriate. There are no rules. I know many in real life who switch their engagement ring to right hand after the wedding, or never get a band and just wear engagement ring on left, or wear a band on right. Wearing the engagement ring alone is particularly common with those who have more elaborate rings or rings that do not fit well with a band.

I almost always wear my rings alone, including my “engagement” ring. I usually wear my engagement ring on left alone, and a RHR or a simple band on my right hand. I prefer the look, and the comfort, of wearing one ring at a time. No one has EVER made any comment about it in real life or questioned it.

dicksonsdoll :  It’s however you want to wear them.  I wear mine on the lefft together because mine are soldered together.

I’ve seen it done that way and the opposite (wedding band on left, engagement ring on right).  Either way is fine.  Do what you like!  You wouldn’t be any less married.  🙂

I might depend on culture? In Germany, most people wear their wedding band on their hand ring finger.

It seems like most people wear both on the left ring finger, but I love wearing my engagement ring alone occasionally (even though I’ve been married 7 years). I think it’s really up to you!

I wear my engagement ring on my right hand and my wedding band on my left. You can wear your rings however it’s comfortable to you.

I will be wearing my engagement ring on my right and wedding band on my left once I get married. I don’t think there’s anything strange about wearing them seperately.
