This is related to a poll I currently have up. I was wondering what all of you who have had your ring re-sized paid and how long it took? The ring is 3/4 diamond and milgrain eternity in white gold…if that makes a difference.

My ring is a 1/2 diamond platinum pave band and I had to have it re-sized from a 6 to a 4.75.
Resizing took about 24 (i.e. dropped it off Wed night, picked it up Thurs night) and cost me about $60.

I got my promise ring resized from a size 4.5 to a size 5.5. It cost $35. I gave it to them on sunday and I got it back on thursday. The ring is a 2mm wide 14k yellow gold band with just a single 0.06ct diamond set in it, so it’s not very fancy. I’m not sure if a fancier ring would cost more/take more time.

My jeweler resized the ring for free for me because we’d purchased it there. It took 3 days.

Ditto @PinkMagnolia: Mine was sized from a 7 to a 4 for free. I dropped it off the day he proposed (sad) which was a Tuesday, and it was ready Friday evening

Mine also resized for free. it took a couple of hours. It’s a local jeweler and they do all of their own work in house. Mine is not an eternity it is only half eternity so I would think a full one might take longer.

I went down 1/2 a size and it cost $50. It took three days.

I think it varies from place to place. One place I got a quote from said $25 and it would take 2 weeks, another one $50 for one week and both of these sent their jewellery away to get resized.
But then I looked for other jewellers who resized things on-site. One place cost $120 and would take a day or two but then another one was $60 and took an hour.
As your ring is white gold it will need to be rhodum dipped so that will cost more more. The best advice I can give you is to shop around and don’t go to chain store jewellers in malls!

Mine was free since it was the first resizing and was done by the same jeweller who made the ring, but Fiance got a ring of his resized as well and it cost $65. Took a week to get them back, only because our jeweller was super busy with orders to get done before Christmas.

Thanks ladies! Turns out our jeweler will resize it for free, but I will still need to ask him about future sizings, since according to my bf he didnt want to go all the way up to a 5 (long story, thinks my true size is 4.5)…and so we settled for a 4.75. Might want to get to that 5 someday.

I wear my mom’s engagement ring on my right hand and it was sized from 6.5 to 3.25 in 2 weeks for $15.

Mine was resized to a 4 1/2 and it was same day service. it was free where Fiance purchased it at. It also took them only 30 minutes to set the stone in 🙂 now that’s service.

Mine was about 4 hours and $60 bucks. Our jewelry would have done it for free but he was hard to get to and would have taken 3 days and I just couldn’t wait to wear it! I know it varies by type of metal and band thickness and also if you have any side diamonds or pave because its trickier then
