Definitely not a perfect square, it would look better set straight.

Sunshine528 :  it’s a beautiful ring but that would drive me insane. It’s clearly not a square so not sure why the jeweller thought it was ok? Hope u get this resolved soon

This would drive me bonkers.  I took the liberty of drawing from prong tip to prong tip and I think that helps emphasize the difference in length to width of the stone.

Hmmmm, Im wondering if the angle of the ring is throwing you off, as the shanks are not pictured  straight on, as it would be on your finger, perhaps that is what is throwing you off ??????????????????

Bee — I hate to overstep any boundaries. Good intentions here, I promise! but you really need to inquire of the specs of the diamond. It looks absolutely gorgeous in the pictures, but you should be given a certificate and know all the stats on the center stone. Measurements included! I feel as though maybe you’re trusting the jeweler to pick a stone and are going into it blindly. I just don’t want you to end up regretting not researching your options and want you to realize not every diamond is the same as the next. Trusting the jeweler because they know best isn’t always a good idea.  Make sure the cut you’re getting is excellent, or it won’t sparkle as well. Really bad inclusions can affect sparkle too. You need to find out the stats of the stone they selected and do some research. Pronto! We Can help to a degree, but I recommend that you go on pricescope.com. The information is there to educate yourself. For price comparison try JamesAllen.com.

Make sure you get the GIA cert. Also see if you can get a loupe, they have them on Amazon to make sure the numbers match.
