@abirdword:  I think the ring is gorgeous too! It’s really no one elses business how many wedding related rings you have or how much they cost.

ps – you got married on my birthday! Woot!

I’ve been really feeling this way a lot recently too… I LOVE my e-ring and my wedding band… they’re beautiful… but lately I’ve been feeling that they’re not really practical, or ME if that makes sense.  I have been so clumsy and tough on them and I dont even mean to be… I feel like they’re too delicate and I would rather trade them in for a more simple lower set e-ring and plain white gold band… DH doesn’t agree with me tho.  He says I will get use to wearing mine and we have a protection plan for a reason.. but I dont want to have to go without my ring(s) when I have to send it out to get fixed (happened once already bc of loose stone).  I feel pretty bad about it… on one hand I feel like I would be sick if I didnt have my original rings and on the other hand i think I would love something a little more simple, less delicate and something I didnt have to take off all the time to do things.. I just feel really bad about it… OP you’re not alone!

I totally understand. I actually told my Fiance that I wanted a band as my engagement ring because I really didn’t want something that stuck up a lot from my finger. So my top choice was a channel-set band with alternating sapphires and diamonds. Unfortunately, Fiance didn’t feel like that was engagement-y enough or something, so he ended up getting me a 3-stone sapphire and diamond ring. But I still kind of lust over diamond and sapphire bands… maybe for an anniversary 😉
