greeneyedbee :  There is absolutely no difference in appearance between a mined diamond and a lab diamond. You would need specialized equipment from a lab to tell the difference. I think with colored gemstones, the difference between lab-created and natural is more obvious because of the color (for example, the color of a lab emerald might not be as rich and vivid as a natural emerald). But diamonds, being colorless, don’t have that problem.

yoganurse :  I have a lab diamond from brilliant earth and ill never regret it! It’s the exact components as a mined diamond and no one would ever even know the difference. The price difference was also too good to turn down!

I got a lab diamond from Lightbox and had it set into my ring. It’s 7/8 carat, and measures 6mm. It’s not graded, but I’d estimate it’s a G color, and VVS1 clarity. It looks perfect. The cut is very good, it’s very sparkly in all types of light. It was $900 for the stone. It’s chemically identical to mined diamond, and looks exactly the same. This is an upgrade from moissy, which I love also, but it does behave differently. No regrets whatsoever.

I have a lab diamond and am quick to tell people that’s what it is, especially if they’re in the market for an engagement ring. No regrets at all, except for the fact that they seem to be a little cheaper now *and* Darling Husband has more money than he did when we got engaged so I sometimes wish we had gone a little bigger. 😉

None, whatsoever. It’s a beautiful diamond for half the price. How could I argue with that? Mine is a 1.11 carat VVS1/I color/ideal cut round brilliant from Brilliant Earth. It is molecularly a diamond with identical light performance as a mined diamond, but cheaper and more ethically sourced.

So I’m gonna spin this around and say I wish I knew about lab diamonds before we picked out the mined diamond!! Seems like a no brainer to save a little on the insane cost of a mined diamond

On top of a moissanite not being a diamond, oval moissanites are notorious for looking “off”.

I have a natural radiant and lab round. Both look and behave like diamonds to me. I love them equally.
