You can use a ring snuggie. It’s a little rubber clip that goes on the inside of your ring that makes it smaller without resizing the metal.

I think you can get them almost everywhere (and that was going to be my suggestion). My Mother-In-Law found some at Walmart and it came with different sizes in there.

I bought mine on Amazon…My fingers shrink about half a size in the winter so I am wearing one right now actually.

You can buy them pretty much anywhere that sells jewelery. Target, Walmart, Amazon, Claires, Icing, Hot Topic, they just look like little clear C clips and you usually end up with a few varying sizes to find the one that works best for you.

I know Walmart has them.

My ring does the same thing, It’s about 1/3 ct. My knuckles are big enough to keep it on my finger, but it’s annoying as anything. It’s a 6.5 which fits fine in the summer (with minimal spin) but whirls around like crazy in winter. I sized my wedding ring (getting married on Sat) to a 6.25 because it won’t ever have to leave my finger.

I’d go with the snuggie and wait til Summer to resize it if it needs it. And by the way, CONGRATS!

I agree with the snuggie. Wait until summer to get it resized; cold makes your ring spin because your blood vessels constrict and your finger shrinks just enough to make it annoying. You get it rezised and come summer it’ll be too small to get off!

Mine’s about 0.25-0.5 sizes too big right now, but I’m still going to wait.

I just got sizing beads added to my Engagement Ring. It’s eternity (jeweler screwed up…wasn’t supposed to be) and has always been too big. The beads have really helped it from spinning as it’s top heavy, so that’s something else to consider. I don’t feel them at all!

@kpat821:  first off congrats on your proposal!! second I would go back to the jeweler you bought the ring from and ask his opinion. I recently got engaged and posted a thread just like this asking about the rubber guards and most people said they didn’t really work, yet I still wanted to try. When I went to my jeweler he showed me one he had and it was way too thick it looked really bad, so he put a little metal ring guard on the inside that you cant even see. I am going to wait until the summer to see if I should really go down a size or not. (even with the ring guard the ring sometimes gets really big if I’m out in the cold for too long) Also with the metal one, it can easily be taken off my the jeweler or by yourself.. I hope this helped 🙂
