I love marquise shape too. If that makes me an old lady I’m totally fine with it lol

The only sort of negative comments I’ve gotten about how “trendy” my pear is were here on the bee. They weren’t even that negative, but still made me feel a little annoyed lol.

All I knew for sure with an engagement ring was that I didn’t want a round diamond or a cushion/princess, and I wanted it to be yellow gold and a solitaire. The pear is an heirloom diamond from my fiancé, and we set it in my perfect simple setting. I love it, and I think the classic setting will date it less.

But really, who cares what anyone else thinks as long as you love it. Your ring is gorgeous!!!

tiff0519 :  there is a lot of negativity when people can say things anonymously I guess!? (A few people said it was gaudy or something and “trendy”… eh… I don’t care)

I think your halo is beautifully made. Don’t ever let someone else’s negativity steal your joy!!!

I think that NOT getting what you love just because it’s currently popular or trendy is the same as getting something JUST because it’s currently popular and trendy. Trends come and go, styles go in and out of popularity… The only thing that’s important is what YOU love. If you consider anything else, you’re just doing yourself a disservice.

By the way, your ring is BEAUTIFUL. I love it!

My ring is a round solitaire, but it’s unique in that it has 5 prongs 🙂

I have a Marquise which is not popular for someone my age (33) but I love it and it’s an antique chunky cut so it’s not the typical one you see

This was a family heirloom so I didn’t pick it out, I did reset it

My first marriage ring was a marquise. I was not fan. I was even less of a fan of the yellow gold band. My ex clearly didn’t know me at all. I kept the stone because i couldn’t tell him that i didn’t like anything about it, but I had a new seeting made it WG. Now? I’m all about square. Asscher (my soon-to-be ring) being my favorite, with princess, cushion and emerald close behind.

I have a heart shaped diamond. I know a lot of people don’t like heart engagement rings but I love that it’s not too common. And it’s funny because I never thought too much about them myself and was set on getting an oval or emerald shape but one day Lauren B Jewelry posted this ring on instagram and I instantly fell in love with it.
