Ladies, as you know I’ve been waiting and waiting (…and waiting). There aren’t many people my age who have been waiting as long as I have. Which is why it is so so exciting to finally be on to the next step of this whole process.
The second that he let me know he wanted my input on the ring I started going crazy online looking at anything and everything just to get an idea of what I liked. I gravitated towards vintage type rings and solitaires. In solitaires I really liked the ones that had a little twist of something unique to them. Something like this maybe.
But we still wanted to check certain things out in person so we’ve been to a few stores now. I learned pretty quickly that some of the engraved vintage rings were a little too much for me. I really liked a thinner band. I also learned that even though online I thought I’d be fine with a princess or a cushion I really really liked rounds in person. A lot. 🙂
The last store we went to was really great, they were so helpful and had really competative prices on not only diamonds, but on custom settings as well. They even mentioned that they could replicate more expensive settings for less…hmmm…
Well, if you can imagine…my boyfriend just told me that they responded to an email he had sent asking if they could replicate a certain setting from a high-end store we had been to that we both really liked. Not only did they say they could do it, but they qouted him a reasonable price!
I don’t want to jinx myself by posting pictures–nothing is set in stone yet. But I am giddy just thinking about it. I love the design, love what it signifies, love my guy, and am so excited to be taking this next step!
Bees who have, or will have a custom ring–how long did it take to make?
