- Wedding: August 2012
‘Cause I had to tell SOMEONE….!
We’ve been talking about it for awhile, but we finally went out and looked at rings together (he’s probably going to get an Asha, but I don’t normally wear rings, so I didn’t have any idea what styles/shapes/sizes I like).
It was soooooo wonderful! Even though we’ve talked about it for months and he’s never given me a reason to doubt him, it didn’t quite feel real until we stopped by a few jewelers. What a wonderful and fun thing to talk e-rings together with all those pretty things in front of me… it became real!! I just wanted to hold his hand and kiss him for the rest of the day!
After lots of trial and error, I finally settled on what I think I like the best: low-set solitaire, .75-1.0 carat on a 3mm yellow gold band. He knows the characteristics I like (and what he thinks looks good), so it’s up to him, but I hope he chooses one of these Ashas:
I guess I’m officially waiting, now… Can’t wait for too long though–I know he wants to get married ASAP with a small wedding and for us that means either late August 2012, or next year (family scheduling problems).
[P.S.: It’s a good thing we both like Asha, because I discovered that I really can tell the difference between the lower and higher-quality diamonds, and higher ones make my artist heart just sing. I tried on a beautiful 1-carat low-set and we decided it was the perfect size/setting, and oh so beautiful… and then I looked at the pricetag: $8000 (F clarity). Yikes!!! It was gorgeous, though. I hope the Asha has similar sparkle and fire; although I HATE spending money, I do appreciate looking at beautiful things…]
