We picked it out together. We had a blast! He surprised me at Disney with it in front of hundreds of people at the castle at fireworks time. I was so happy.

We went together to pick it out! I thought it was important that he likes the ring as well since he was paying for it!  My ring turned out great!  I am glad we went together!

OMG Jizes318–we got engaged in Disney during the fireworks as well!  It was aweesome!  But I am not really sure if people know what was going on besides him bending down on one knee and me screaming! LOL  Needless to say I was soooo surprised!

my fiance wanted to surprise me so we didnt look together, however i did give him some random hints. When he proposed though he just bought the loose diamond and had it mounted in a plain white gold band and when we got back from Cancun, he took me to Shane Co and allowed me to pick my own band! So, he still had a huge part in picking it but I did also…and it was a complete surprise!

We kind of went “shopping” online.  We looked at websites and I showed him what I liked.

I’m perfectly fine with him doing it on his own (he has great taste), but after discovering how much I liked gems and jewelry, he invited me to go with him. We’ll probably do both. ๐Ÿ™‚

My hubs surprised me with the ring and the proposal…so I am not the best to answer this poll, but if there is a special type of style you like, going together is a great idea!

I sent jason a few links to rings I liked, but he doesn’t want to talk about rings at all anymore, he wants it to be a complete surprise from when it is going to happen to what the ring looks like.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I love surprises, but I want to be engaged already!

He proposed with a cushion solitaire (i told him i like square-ish cuts that are unique, like radiants and he sent me pictures of the solitaires to see which i liked the best. he was deployed but there were LOTS of stones he sent me pics of that I didn’t like) and let me pick out the setting all by myself =]. I already knew what I wanted but was very open minded. I still ended up with what i picked out a year before!

And i had to fight tooth and nail so I’d have a say. Finally he understood how damn picky I am about jewelry. I let him “pick” rings for me in the store and was like, “wow…that is NOT my taste…” but he was very understanding. I love all diamonds but I was pretty anal about what I wanted on my own finger. =P

My fiance picked out my ring all by himself, and he did such an amazing job! I’m not super picky (and honestly hadn’t thought about it before, and wouldn’t have known what to say if he had asked me what I liked) so there wasn’t a huge risk in me being super disappointed with it. It made our engagement sooo special because although I knew he wanted to marry me, I had NO idea he had gone ring shopping or was even starting to plan the proposal. I love surprises!

Myy fiance didnt have any help on my ring except that he knew I preferred princess over round cut. What he presented me with is a million times better than anything I would have seen or thought I liked in person. What makes my ring so special is that my fiance had it created just for me….HE went through the struggle of picking out a ring he thought fit me and I was completely floored that he did such a good job! Im not the biggest fan of going ring shopping together, but if it works for you then do it!

I’m too picky to be pleasantly surprized by a peice of jewelry I would be wearing for the rest of my life. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You better believe I picked that baby out 100%!
