Hey all! I’m still a waiting bee, but SO and I went ring shopping a few months ago and I had to share! (While I have commented on other posts, this is the first one I have actually started!) We had talked about getting engaged (more like I talked, he laughed it off) and I mentioned maybe we should go ring shopping together sometime since he admitted he has NO clue what I want in terms of a ring. We both know we want to get married in the next year or two. In response to the ring shopping, he replied, “Sure, how about next weekend!”. This was a few months ago, and he told me not to get my hopes up for anytime soon, but he wanted to get it out of the way so he could surprise me and I wouldn’t have a clue. (I’m secretly hoping by the end of the year!) We went to a local jeweler and the person we met with was super nice and helpful, and SO actually was really interested in learning about diamonds. I always wanted a Tacori, but we found the most perfect non-name brand ring so SO could splurge a bit more on the diamond rather than the setting. So here it is!

It’s a pave setting with milgrain edges that taper in, and there’s also really pretty detailing on the side that you can’t see. I have little girl hands as I call them, and my finger size is 5.25 so the sample was a bit large. I think the diamond is ~1 carat (and it looks a bit yellow to me, but maybe it’s just the lighting). I also kinda just placed the loose diamond on top of the setting to get a feel for what the real thing would look like. Now it’s up to SO to pick the diamond and pop the question! What do you bees think of our choice?! Obviously I’m biased, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. Has anyone else been ring shopping recently? Or does anyone have a ring similar to this? Post away, I love ring pics 🙂

@JoJo Bananas: Oooh yes it does! That is gorgeous. I love the side detailing. The one I tried on had little filigree cutout designs on the side. Did you get a matching band? Either way, do you have a pic of the e-ring and band together? I’m wondering what the tapering looks like with a band next to it.

I did get the matching band from the designer, but I could’ve just gotten a regular eternity band and it would’ve matched. The setting holds the center stone up enough so that the two bands sit together snugly.

So pretty! I picked my ring out with Fiance too, and he made me wait five months for the surprise 🙂 I’ll keep you in my happy thoughts!

Thanks everyone!
@JoJo Bananas: Wow, I absolutely love how that looks! So pretty on your finger. Thanks for sharing. My only concern was that the band would look funny next to the taper, but it definitely does not. The one I tried on was more of a cathedral setting as well, so looks like the band will sit flush. Here I am concerned about the band and I don’t even have the e-ring yet
@pink.sequins: Hmm I’m coming up on 4 months since ring shopping… maybe 5 is the lucky number?! A summer engagement WOULD be nice.

Okay so I swear I don’t creep through SO’s email, but he left it wide open on the computer this morning! (We live together and share a computer) And what did I see GLARING back at me!?
“Your appointment request for Friday, July 22 from 3-5 pm at Long’s Jewelers in Natick”
EEEK!!! It took all my willpower not to open it and log out of his email immediately, though the subject kinda gave it away. I almost wonder if he wanted me to see it.. he never leaves his email open! But yes, that is the place the went ring shopping, so it looks like he might be getting the process started. SO SO SO excited!!!
(I just hope he isn’t trying to throw me off… I know he wants me to be totally surprised, so that is an option! He’s a tricky one haha)
