Hi All, I know finding a gorgeous ring at a good price that is also GIA certified is daunting…and in the wrong avenue, very expensive. I am in my late 30’s and am very, very picky, but also frugal, so ring shopping in stores was a big let down. The rings were expensive and suprisingly lower quality that what I’d expect for the price.
The only ring that looked close was $6500 for an .73 NON-CERTIFIED SI !!!! Really? I loved that, when I balked at paying that much for a non-certified ring, they saidI could “upgrade” down the road. I don’t know about you, but if I am paying over 5k for a ring, it better knock my socks off, and I certainly don’t plan to buy two. (Call me crazy.) Plus, I want a gorgeous ring, but I also want to have the funds to take an amazing honeymoon, and with research, I knew I could find a way to swing both. I did. James Allen.
We went to numerous brick and mortar stores to look for the perfect engagement ring. I was very disappointed to find that, rings in the stores were way over-priced for diamonds that really weren’t that high on the certification scale (or worse, had in-house certifications versus GIA etc.). I wanted the right ring—at the right price…but we just weren’t finding this in stores.

I did a lot of research on how successful shopping for engagement rings online was, and I was pleased to find online engagement ring shopping was touted as a great alternative— if you went through a first class site, such as James Allen. After scouring numerous sites for weeks, I found James Allen to have the best prices on GIA certified diamonds, and I found the settings beautiful. I was even able to get the platinum setting I wanted for not much more.
James Allen lets you compare each diamond with a wonderful 360* video AND inspect the measurements of the diamond, which is critical to ensure brilliance. Many sites just add a generic picture, by James Allen lets you see YOUR specific diamond in detail. Even better, they had amazing reviews online. I found a ring I loved on James Allen…at an amazing price. I figured with a 60 day no-questions guarantee, at almost a third of the price, we needed to try it. Unlike the 6500k non certified center diamond and matching ring in the store, this had a .73 (same size) GIA certified center diamond with an EXCELLENT cut, Vs2, no flouresence…for almost $2500 – $4500 less than the non-certified equivalent we were finding in stores! (And the side stones were even certified! Ask a store about if the side stones are certified…I guarentee you’ll hear crickets chirping with the dead silence, unless you’re paying $6500 for the setting alone, center stone not included.)

Long story short, we found a BREATH-TAKING ring that was almost half of what we’d pay in a store, and with a much higher quality center stone–a GIA excellent cut VS2 .73 carat with a .72 setting, 1.45 tcw.
I went through James Allen and was so blown away with the quality, service and value, I think many that are entering an engagement would benefit greatly to know that online ring shopping (through a well-researched vendor like James Allen) can save them a bundle…and get them a much higher quality ring. For the same size of ring with a similar setting, we would pay almost TWICE in the store. Even worse? The store diamond wasn’t even certified, and the James Allen stone was GIA certified with an excellent cut, no fluorescence, VS2 and perfect dimensions!

It was gorgeous online, but it knocked my socks off in person. It literally EXPLODES with light and fire and looks like ring 3 times the cost.

,On top of incredible value and quality, I was stunned by how phenomenal their customer service is! I am a huge researcher and have tons of questions, which would annoy a lot of companies/people. Not Angelia (and others whom I spoke with at James Allen). She was always incredibly responsive, gracious and warm— no matter how many questions I had. She definitely rolled out the red carpet and I cannot say how thrilled I am Ifound James Allen. (No, I don’t work for them.)

Anyone who is looking for a ring would do themselves a GREAT disservice by not going through James Allen. Not only is the value incredible, the rings breath-taking (it’s truly a fairly-tale ring) the service is what you’d expect if you were shopping for a $15,000 ring—they truly treat you like royalty whether you’re looking at rings under $1000 or well over.

Even after I bought and paid for the ring, (and received it!) the service was beyond exceptional…it was, again, the quality of service only royalty usually gets.

In a world of “burn and turn” tactics, James Allen epitomizes old world class, honor and dedication. It by far has THE BEST customer service dedication of any company I have ever seen. On quality, they are without compare, and I do not know how they offer such amazing quality at prices that are a fraction of the stores.

Whether shopping together for your engagement ring, or for men trying to surprise their mate, James Allen will provide you with unmatched quality, service and guidance. We would have paid at least double in a store…and for a lower quality ring. What we received is truly breathtaking. And if the ring isn’t quite her taste, you have a 60 day guarantee, trade it in and shop together!
I honestly was skittish about buying online, but the quality of the ring I got would be at least two times the cost in a brick and mortar store. You have a 60 day return policy too and lifetime cleaning and side stone replacement.
Skeptical? Go look at prices in stores and then check out James Allen…you’ll be shocked at what your budget can buy you!
P.S. remember cut is critical, place this above all other c’s as this is what makes a diamond brilliant, and if at all possible, go with GIA certification…it’s much stricter meaning more reliable quality!
