I just want to get a good feel for the average center stone size by area. Once you vote, please include what you voted for, where you’re living, and also feel free to include specs on the ring.
My center stone is .95 ct I color (I know there are some haters! But I used to have a D and LOVE the warmth this stone gives :-P) SI1 Brilliant round. TCW is about 1.6ct. I am in the midwest.
I understand the average center stone here is .5 cts. Please include pics if you’d like!

I live in St. Louis and I have a 1.25ct brilliant cut diamond with pave settings on the band. TCW is 1.45 H colored. I love how dainty the band is and how timless it looks overall.

depends so much more on the age of the couple than where they live i think…
my SO and I are both in our early 20’s (shhh leave the young bride bashing for another thread) so my 0.5 carat is really quite large especially considering diamonds cost so much more in Australia than the US.
Anyways your rings are gorgeous

Hey there, I was just looking at your other thread…I thought you didn’t like the warmth of your stone? I didn’t read through the entire thread, but either way I’m glad you’re feeling better about it because I, too, tend to like the near colorless group as opposed to the icier colorless.
There was a thread on this about a month ago, I’ll be interested to see if any new analysis regarding geographic location and diamond size come out of this one.
My center stone 2.27 GIA XXX H VS2. TCW 2.63. I’m in Washington DC, from Philadelphia.

No idea what the average here is (Alberta, Canada). I have a 1.3 carat fancy yellow diamond in a halo… CTW is 1.75.
There’s many people here with lots of money. I see stones ranging from itty bitty to quite large. Out of people I know fairly intimately, mine is on the larger side.

@Mumbles88: DC bride getting married in the midwest, just over 1 carat diamond center stone, total carat weight in diamonds: 1.7.

Mid South Bride, but I’m older than most. Mine’s 2.2 round brilliant solitaire on a cathedral set 6mm platinum band, F color and SI1. I don’t think I’m average for around here, even at my age.

- Wedding: May 2013 - Pavilion overlooking golf course scenery, reception at banquet hall
Two of your poll options say .75 so I can’t vote, but I’m in Texas.

I’m from Pittsburgh, Pa and from what I have seen on friends and family, .75 – 1 ct is pretty normal. I have friends with .5 and my dad’s fiance wears a 1.5 so it just depends, our city has so many diverse areas it’s kinda of hard to lump it all into one.

Ive got 1.3ct equiv, pretty big in my area queensland australia. But most myfiriends are lucky enough to have almost a carat if not a carat diamond which is prob $5000+ for an ok quality one.

Center stone is 2/5 carats. Tcw is just a little over a carat. We lived in Wisconsin when he proposed.

.76 in the PNW. No clue what’s average, but my guess is some people wear a size to go along with the outdoorsy lifestyle that’s prevalent here. Never that far from nature, even in the metro areas.

I have a 1.00 ct center, and I live in Boston! So mine is about average, with some being WAY bigger and some being WAY smaller (Depending on which suburb you’re from)
Mine is D color, VVS1, VG cut. I constantly stare at it, but don’t have ANY good pictures of it!
