I got married in May. My engagement ring was always the right size, although a little tight if I was doing something active. Once I put the wedding band on with it, the set was a little tight. Then I got pregnant and had to stop wearing it. I’m pretty sure I had a 7 1/2 ring size. I got a stand in band that’s a size 8.
I’m just wondering if I should get my real rings sized up, or just wait until after the pregnancy. I really miss wearing my set. Did you ring size change for good once you got pregnant, or did it return to the size you were before pregnancy?

Great question! I miss wearing my ring so badly and can’t wait to wear it again.

I wore my rings throughout my entire pregnancy. There were days when they were tighter than others, but I have no issue putting them on now. I would wait and see what happens. I believe your fingers should return to their normal size.

When did you stop wearing your rings?
I’m still able to get mine on and off with ease, but if I would happen to run into this problem I think I would wait until after the pregnancy and see. What if you get them re-sized now and then after they are too big? Re-sizing again may jeopardize the intergrity of the ring. I’d rather be safe and hold off a few more months.

Wait! You probably are just carrying ectra water weight. I know I did. In my hands, wrists and ankles especially. Sometimes womens hands, and feet do grow during pregnancy, because of hormones. But alot of time it is just the water weight. I would wait at least 2 months after the baby is born, and your hormones go back to normal before deciding on changing sizes.

I wouldnt get it sized up. My ring size went up to an 8 during my first pregnancy and then went right back down afterwards. My size 7 rings are now getting tight again during this pregnancy. You don’t really ever gain weight in your hands anyway. Its mostly water. I’m just going to start wearing my rings around my neck until after the baby is born.

i plan on sizing mine up then sizing them back down after i go back down in size…sizing my rings does not cost me anything so i might as well

One of my best friends just had a baby a few weeks ago. About 6 months into her pregnancy she could no longer wear her e-ring but the wedding band still fit so she just wore that by itself. Since having the baby, she’s been able to wear both rings comfortably. I’ve never been pregnant so I dont know if its different for each person but her fingers went back down to their original size, so I would hold off on the re-sizing.

I guess I’ll hold off. I only considered it since when I wore them both together after the wedding they were a little tight as opposed to wearing just my Engagement Ring. I wore my wedding band alone for a while after I got pregnant since they were too tight together, but that is still a little to tight to be comfortable.
I was thinking about getting them sized since they were a little tight before I got pregnant, but I probably should just wait, just in case.

My ring was tight durring the pregnancy but I never took it off an dafter having my son it fits fine again. I’d say to just wait. I don’t think anyone’s actually stays bigger though there might be a few exceptions.

I always knew your finger could swell during pregnancy but I didn’t know when it happens. I guess it does depend on the person. A close friend of mine just had a baby and she just put her rings back on. She told me that she took them off about 37 weeks. Very interesting.
