Hi… ok this is awkward…
My Fiance proposed back in January with a beautiful engagement ring. It really is beautiful. I had picked out the setting and he chose the diamonds. There are pear shaped stones on the sides (1/4 carat each) and a center stone that is larger than 1 carat (I think they call this a fat carat, I am not sure of the exact size). Anyways, we had talked about it, he knew that I wanted a carat. He is really proud that he was able to give this to me and that it is so beautiful.
I feel though that the stone is too large for my hand. I’m not a fancy girl. I love to dress up but am just as comfortable dressed down and this feels large to me and like costume jewlery. My sister says to enjoy it, it’s beautiful and appreciate it. I don’t want to hurt his feelings but I have had it now for 2 months and I still feel the same way. It feels like “too much.” Hard to explain I guess.
Not sure what to do… I thought about going back and trading the stone out for another but that seems sneaky but I really don’t want to hurt his feelings. Do I live with it? I keep looking at it, he thinks I’m admiring it which I am as it is so pretty. But what I’m really doing is thinking, “Does it still look too big to me?”
