i think you’ll have more luck looking around on the pricescope.com forums.  They are more diamond/4 Cs concerned, and don’t get into “I don’t know my 4 Cs because I’m not materialistic” arguments.

Hello there

I have a round brilliant ideal cut dimond 1.1 carats (colorless and flawless) not sure the total with the band that has 36 small set dimonds and is platnum. I got it at barmakian’s (there are 2 of them in the area but no where else) I am from boston and the total cost was about $9000. Setting was around 4000 dimond was 5000.

Hope that helps!

My center stone is just shy of a carat and princess cut… which baguettes on either side. Don’t know what he paid but it was appraised somewhere in the 5k range (I think… I tried to stay completely unaware of how much he spent… I just know it was too much!) It was purchased at a mom and pop shop in NJ. Check out some of the smaller shops if you can. When we first started shopping around, I noticed that some of the bigger chains were higher prices for a lower quality stone (I don’t at all mean to generalize.. I’m sure that’s not true of all places!! Just seemed to be the case in the places we looked). It’s really good that you’re doing a lot of research!

Oh, and ring size is a 5. Sorry I can’t provide more info! I tried my best to stay out of it and let it be my man’s thing. I’d say he did good!!

@MASPA: Thanks! It makes me a little sad they don’t “face up” as much as other cuts.

Shape: Round Brilliant

Carat: 0.94 center stone, 2 0.15 side stones

Cut: Ideal

Color: D or E… I can’t remember which

Clarity: VVS2

Source: Canadian mined and cut… this was VERY important to me

Price: I don’t know what he paid for the diamonds and setting, but the ring was appraised for almost $8k

Ring size: 8.25… hello fat fingers ๐Ÿ™

Metal: Recycled palladium…. I insisted on making sure that my ring was made from recycled metal

Where was the ring purchased: Custom made by a small local jeweler. Honestly, our jeweler is awesome, and if we were having a normal size wedding, she would be invited.

Pics: Yeah, I don’t have any ring porn to share. I cannot seem to get a clear pic with my cell phone and I am too lazy to bother with a regular camera.
