How thick is your ring, like in the direction of your other fingers?
I’m having mine custom made and it will be a 1.5ct equivalent solitaire, but the thinnest he wanted to go for the band was 1.8mm.
I’m not really a ring wearer and my other rings are much thinner than that, so I was worried it might irritate my other fingers. Is anyone bothered by the thickness of their band?

Do you mean how far does my band stick out? I don’t have a measurement for that – the thickness of the platinum with pave is 2.5mm. Here’s a photo that shows the overlay, which is substantial because my ring is a little loose to accomidate swelling in warm weather. I never take my ring off, and it doesn’t bother me at all, despite the abrasive nature of the pave.

Your meaning the height/thickness not that width of the shank right? 1.8mm in height isn’t much at all, So I think you’ll be surprised

your ring is stunning!! Would you mind sharing the carat weight of your center diamond and ring size?

right, I mean how far it sticks out or the “height”
thanks, that’s helpful since I don’t think mine will be as thick as yours. Maybe it’s just one of those things you get used to after a little bit.

Thank you very much! I think it’s quite simple in terms of this site, so that’s quite a compliment! It’s a .90 oval diamond on a 2.5mm shank on a 5.5 finger. 🙂
To the OP – Its funny because when you said that it’s something you get used to, I thought that I barely even noticed it, even when I first got it in December. So I took it off for a few minutes and holy crap. My finger felt NAKED so I put it back on immediately. I guess I do notice it – but instead of benig annoying it’s a soothing feeling, if that makes sense?
I do get rashes from white gold, so my ring is platinum. My first rings I always got irritated from and I learned that it was actually the white gold. Now that I only wear platinum I’ve been find in terms of irritation.

If you’re getting an eternity band, or ring that has pave stones, some people have complained that the stones rub the side of their fingers and bother them – but if it’s a smooth band it shouldn’t bother you at all.
Looking at my rings – they’re all pretty thin. My e-ring is thickest – around 2 mm – and it’s never bothered me.
