Hello ladies 🙂
I have a 1 ct diamond solitaire on a 14k white gold band with the matching ring, as a bridal set. As an anniversary gift, my husband took me to select a solitaire enchancer/wrap/guard as an upgrade to my set (as I think the plain bands make the ring look a bit simple). I had found the perfect wrap but due to the fact that the store no longer did business with that manufacturer, the ring could not be made in my size (my finger is 3.5). So, after not really liking the styles of the enhancers/wraps/guards, I began to wonder if a new setting for the ring would be better.
The problem I had with the wraps was that I wanted my ring to look like a bridal set, not just one big ring. Also, I didn’t want the sides of my e-ring to show, because I felt it looked strange if the enhancer had diamonds and then my plain ring is peeking through.
I also looked at diamond anniversary rings (as I had initially thought that would work just fine) but I didn’t like the way it looked with my plain e-ring. Really, the look I wanted was more sparkle, and I’m not achieving the look I wanted with wraps-and I’m a bit apprehensive to take my original diamond out to put into another setting due to sentimental reasons. My husband doesn’t mind if I would take the diamond out, but I can’t help but to feel bad 🙁
Have any of you had a similar experience? What did you do?
I know custom work could be an option, but I’m slowly losing the desire for a wrap, and losing hope altogether about an upgrade…
