    I think you should jump in there and get the engagement ring you want! If you can afford to do so, get the size you really want.  I do love the 6 prongs. Not only do they keep your stone more secure, rounds look so much more pleasing to the eye. I have always thought the 4 prongs gave round brilliant cuts a squarish look. (Nothing wrong with that – I wear an Emerald cut)… If you do go ahead and wear your ring for the engagement photos, either get the ring tightened prior to the appointment, or ask your photographer if he/she will do those shots later.

    ETA: I voted for the 1st 6 prong setting. I’ve always liked that one.

    It’s a beautiful ring!! If the only issue at the moment is that the stone is loose that’s a quick fix! Find a jeweler in your area that has a bench jeweler on site and they should be able to tighten it quickly for you.

    That first 6 prong setting is so pretty.. I voted for that one! And, I say if you can afford to upgrade now, go for it!!!!
