- Wedding: December 2014
So when my Fiance and I were talking about getting engaged I did not want him to spend a ton of money on a ring since we had other things in our lives going on. I found a beautiful rose gold and morganite ring (pictured below) on Etsy for under $1000 and was sold. He loved the idea and so did I. We got the ring knowing it wouldn’t be my forever ring and that it would be upgraded one day when we could afford it.
Tonight I go to put my ring back in the box for safe keeping while I sleep and my center stone is LOOSE. I have had the ring just over a year now and engagement pictures are in TWO DAYS. I’m so upset!
The wedding is in December so I will obviously need to get it reset and tightened back up before then, but it makes me wonder if we should be considering the upgrade and setting change pretty soon after the wedding.
I decided I want to get a round 1.5 ct moissanite and change the setting from 4 to 6 prongs. (Anyone have something similiar to my ring with these changes???) Since the 6 prongs would hold the stone better, it may be a better idea to do it soon after, right? I never imagined changing the stone and setting so soon, but I just can’t bear the thought of having a loose stone! The two 6 prong looks I am thinking of will also be shown below!
(Only pic I have of my ring on my new computer is the one with my band)
(pretty sure this one belongs to a fellow Bee… but come on! It’s perfect!)
And this 6 prong setting shows the type of basket that I am OBSESSED with. I don’t know why. Just something about it I love.
