lavender-reveries:  Ha, ha! Definitely not a nerdy thing to do. The first time I used Seche Vite, I applied it in a thin layer, just like a normal top coat. It looked HORRIBLE! I had to go back and look online for tips on how to apply it. Otherwise, I never would have realized that you have to put it on in a thick coat.

Even with not being able to use every last bit of it, it’s the best top coat I’ve ever used. I love having my nails shiny, shiny, shiny. And it looks like glass over them. It wears really well for me, too. I used to have problems with the color shrinking back under it — not for every polish, but for certain formulas. But I started using the Seche ridge filling base coat, and I haven’t had that problem since.

Thanks for the kind words on the wacky yellow/gold mani. It does make my new wedding band pop — ha, ha!

This is a Revlon color called Sizzling Coral.  It’s a great summery color!

longtimemrs:  lavender-reveries:  Seche Restore will change your life!  Haha, okay, dramatization.  But seriously, it solves the problem of the polish getting all goopy and thick, and will let you finish the entire bottle.  I was throwing out bottles when they were still half full until I discovered this.  I imagine any nail polish thinner would work, but can’t vouch for that, as I’ve only used the Seche Restore.

ari530:  Yay! I am totally going to look for this. Thank you thank you for the awesome tip! (And your nails look fab, too. I love that color. It’s one of those that I wish I could wear, but they look terrible on me.)

stefzbee:  I thought that was just me! Once my seche vite is about halfway gone it gets so goopy and I have to replace it. I still havent found another topcoat I like as much, so let me know if you find a good one!

ETA: I stopped reading to post and then when I went back I realized there was a whole big discussion about seche vite. Whoops ๐Ÿ™‚
