Darling Husband and I took our rings and a couple other things (one pair of earrings and a necklace) to our jeweler to be appraised. When we dropped them off, he said it would take a few days because he had other pieces he was also working on.
This is the same jeweler that designed all the jewelry and I know he isn’t the most timely tool in the shed. He’s had my rings for a week and DH’s for a few days before that. I’m starting to get ANTSY and want my rings back!
I called on Saturday to find out if they were done and told him to not return the call if they weren’t. Well, now it’s Thursday…. and I’m wanting an ETA…. do you think it would be annoying to call and find out?
…just curious how long your ring appraisal took…

My appraisal was done in front of me within 1/2 hr. We waited a week for the ppwk because the secretary was sick an was unable to type it up.

Ditto to what the PP said. The only reason we waited a week was because they typed it up and then mailed it out to us.

The jeweler I go to aways says “a week” for everything, unless it’s something they need to order. I hate to say it but appraisals aren’t usually high on their priority lists.

Mine took not even 3 hours. Dropped it off and picked it up in the same day.

I didn’t even leave the store. My ring was appraised in about 15 minutes and the papers were written up right there and then.
I don’t know if it makes a difference but I went to a small shop that specializes in antiques and I was the only person in the store so maybe that sped it up.
