Right after we got engaged, we went on a week long trip to Ireland.  I opted for putting my ring in a safe deposit box while we were gone, and I just bought a CZ little band to wear on vacation.  I really didn’t want to take it off, but I’d rather still have it than have it stolen, or lost, etc on vacation.

The only time I take my e-ring off is to shower and sleep. We are going to Las Vegas for our Honeymoon and I plan on wearing my e-ring and wedding band at all times. Well maybe not in the pool lol

the only time the rings would be off would be at night when I’m in the hotel room with them sleeping, so … I’d have them on all the time and just never take them off in the day.

When we go on our “mini moon” in a cabin in Maine, right after the wedding, I will wear both my rings.  When we go on our actual honeymoon (Spain and France), I will leave my e-ring at home. I’m undecided whether I’ll wear my actual wedding band, which is a narrow half-eternity band, or whether I’ll just get a simple silver band and wear that.  I’ll wear them all the time, but I don’t want to be robbed of my ring.  I figure if I’m wearing a plain silver band, that won’t happen.  I know some people will buy a cz ring for travel, but I don’t want a thief to see sparkle and try to take it.  If I were you, I’d leave it home.

I said other because I don’t think you should wear your actual ring but I don’t like the feeling of not indicating you are married at all while traveling.  I would suggest buying a simple gold or silver band for travel.  Nothing flashy so not even something that looks like a diamond because it will draw just as much negative attention.  My ring is not insured for out of states travel so I had a local artist make me a white gold band with a laurel leaf pattern on it. Here it is.

I would wear it and just leave it on the whole time.

I just got back from a trip (Dominican Republic) and was thinking about the same question.  I was between leaving it at home or wearing it 24/7.  I was nervous about leaving it in a room safe so never planned to do that.

I decided to just wear it and wore it all the time, just like I do at home.  Even in the ocean!  It was fine and I felt more comfortable (normal) with it on my finger!

I got engaged in Aruba on May 1st this year. Take it with you. It’s very safe over there… Given you have insurance on your ring!!

I went snorkeling with it (closed fist) and all kinds of activities.. you’ll be fine. (you do have insurance, right?)

I think you’re fine in Aruba, just don’t take it off. For less safe places, it’s just not worth the risk!

Aruba seems touristy and safe enough to me.  I’d just wear it. I’ve worn mine all over New Zealand, Austrailia, St John, Ankara, Munich, Destin.. it just stays on my finger.  i’d never take it with me then leave it in a safe.

Part II of our Honeymoon will be outside of the USA… on a cruise to the Caribbean.

My current plan is to take my Engagement Ring (very glittery) and my Wedding Band (plain gold) and wear them both when I am on the ship, and just the W-Band when I am off exploring an island for the day (E-Ring will be locked up in our room safe).  As someone who has visited the Islands, I think this is a good plan, because, although most of the touristy places on the Islands are quite safe… I don’t want to risk unncessary attention or lose the ring in some activities that we might be doing while ashore (snorkelling – scuba diving – on the beach etc)

Mr TTR is far more nervous about this than I am (as an Encore Bride, I used to wear my first bridal set everywhere for over 20 Years, with no issues … but then again, they were predominently gold… lol, we couldn’t afford diamonds straight out of University).  If he truly is having a melt-down pre-trip, then I’ll find myself a glittery Cz “stunt double” ring and wear that for our Caribbean Honeymoon… and leave the real ring here in our Bank’s Safety Deposit Box

We are going to St Lucia for our honeymoon and I will be leaving my engagement ring at home and wearing only my wedding bands. I don’t need the stress of worrying about my ring while we are on the beach and in the pool and doing whatever other crazy things people do on honeymoons.
