so, my mother got engaged in the 60s! But – her ring is an antique from sometime in the 1860s, or possibly even before. Anyway, here it is with my own ring:

This is my collection of rings from the ’50s and ’60s. I love how big and chunky they are.

This is my moms upgrade from the late 80’s, her original .25ct platinum solitaire was stolen. Fun thread and love the rings so far!

My mother passed on a lot of her diamond jewelry when she moved to Africa over a decade ago now. Her ering was a solitaire and enhancer (from the mid 90s) so not that old. It’s actually crazy to think it’s 25 yrs old – makes me feel old 😂  I wanted to keep them looking as they had when she wore them so I had them soldered together. The jeweler I used then did an awful job but I wore it, though never really happy with it. The craftsmanship was terrible and it was definitely not my style. Fast forward, had the stones from enhancer turned into 1/2+ eternity band, used her solitaire and diamond earrings she gave me to create a beautiful 3 stone ring.
I don’t have a picture of the rings pre-soldering…

Very 90s to me. I’ll shamelessly post what the stones look like now as I think they also illustrate more of today’s styles.

thanks for the fun thread! Love to see other people’s rings.

Here are a few more – 3 of them are sterling but they are from the 50s, 60s and 70s. (well, the wide silver band is newer but it’s made from a 1969 5 franc coin, so still vintage in my book 🙂 )

Fond memories of Mrs. Roper and her love for big jewelry.

I didn’t mean that you ARE Mrs R. 🤣 Although, I always thought she was way too good looking for Mr. Roper who never appreciated her eccentric style.

@kalex814:  I got engaged in 1996 when yellow gold was king. My mother got married in 1968 but did not get her diamond and sapphire ering until 1980
