@claireos: That’s what we ended up doing; he now knows what I like, so the jeweler is picking out some settings that are similar and he is choosing. So I’ll have the style I like but it won’t cost an arm and a leg! I love Tacori for the same reasons… classic but unique. He may be picking out a stone, but I know for sure not to expect anything until May (because I told him to wait until I finish grad school!), so I’m not anxious… just excited that he’s finally on the same page as me!

Round Moissanite Tiffany Inspired “Solstice” Solitaire Ring [sol003]

Moissanite Engagement Ring; 14k Gold / Pall [eng553]

I would love either one with a 1.5ct round center stone in palladium with 6 prongs, not to be too specific..lol.

(Both rings are from moissaniteco.com)

@Kant: I googled ‘princess cut diamonds’ and this came up under images. Can’t you just imagine pushing your ring finger through the picture. I’m sad like that.

oh wow.. lol I sent him a few via email and a few via picture mail on the phone hehe

The ring idea I have settled on is similar to yours! the curvy sides with tiny diamonds and a diamond in the middle. I really am not a jewelry person so i told him .50 karat is nice enough for me!

He said once wathcing a movie that he thought it was a bad idea to ahve the woman pick her own ring, so I’ve not sent him pics of any that I like…. but I really wnt to for a couple of reasons, one being I want him to know that I don’t want anyhting out of our price range, which for us is at or under 500.00.  Also, after a kinda V-Day fisaco where he picked out a nice, expensive set of turquoise jewelry for me (but I don’t really LIKE turquoise) and he could tell it wasn’t to my liking, I don’t want to go through that again.  I just can’t figure out how to do.  My B-day is in a few days and I know he’s not proposing by then, so I’m waiting till it’s over so it won’t look like I’m nagging for a ring for my B day before sending him some Etsy links.

@Isilme:

That hurt to read,… lol!  But I think I got the gist of it.

Have you looked at Moissanite or Asha rings?  There are so many gorgeous ones that are under $500.00

@Oneeleven:  Sorry for the bad writing – been sick lately and still not clear headed.  I’ve found a lot I like online, and what I’d really love is just my birthstone, and aquamarine – it’d mean it’s for me somehow then:

this next was my favorite, but it’s been sold.  I think the seller would make it again, but it’s not really my place to be the one who asks him to do so, unless I want to pay for my own ring:

@Isilme:

Wow. Those are both stunning!  I really love them.

Do you think you could innocently slip it in like “I love this so much and it’s our price range..Just incase you wanted to buy me a ring one day *wink* I bet if when that time comes, if you messaged this seller, she might be able to make one like it for us”
