So, I just finished up the 30 day shred, and while I had some great results, I was SO BORED with it by the time it was done. I seriously couldn’t stand to do it one more time. So, I’ve started Ripped in 30. Today is Day 4 – and so far, I LOVE IT. It is SO much better than 30DS, in my opinion. The exercises never repeat, and each move is done for a shorter time. For example, in the strength circuit, instead of 1 move for 30 seconds, 1 move for a minute and repeat, RI30 does 3 different moves, 45 seconds each, and then repeat. Keeps me from getting bored.
Did anyone else wonder why RI30 doesn’t get more attention? Anyone else love it SO much more than 30DS like me? Anyone want to share their results from RI30?

@FutureCuomo6610: I am going to be starting it soon…I am just finishing up with 30 Day Shred. Does Ripped in 30 have as much JUMPING as 30 Day Shred? Fuck my life, I hate jumping 😛

@MrsPanda99: Not going to lie – there’s some jumping in Level 1. Can’t speak to the other levels. But the jumping is VERY do-able. Not like the unGodly jumping lunges in the Shred ;). Seriously, though, the variety makes RI30 so much more engaging. I think you’ll enjoy it!

does ripped in 30 still just have three workouts or are there more? that’s what bores me about 30 day shred.

@polkadotgirl: Nope – it has 4! Hallelujiah! You are supposed to do each level for 6 days, rest 1 day, and start the next. And she says in Level 1 that no single exercise is repeated throughout all 4 levels. You do pushups in Level 1 – and she says that that’s the only time you’ll do pushups for the whole DVD. That’s my favorite thing about it!

@amyinbrisbane: The WORST one by far is that oblique twist. Jumping and spinning around like a top…FUN. I swear, my knees are going to be shot by the time I’m done with Jillian Michaels.

@polkadotgirl: I agree, it is boring. For me, exercise is always boring and shitty. I hate it and everything about it. I am not energized after, I’m tired. I don’t feel better after, I feel tired 😛
So, I guess that I don’t care how boring it is so long as it works, and I find that Jillian Michaels does work.

@MrsPanda99: Yeah that one is hard but the one I hate the most, and I still don’t know the correct name for the move, is that burpee one ‘get into plank position, then jump out and back’ 1 per second…

@amyinbrisbane: Well, there’s not much to tell yet. I just finished Day 4 of week 1. It’s the same 3-2-1 format as 30DS, but with 4 levels instead of three. The moves are never repeated, which adds a ton of variety. Like I said before, the strength moves include 3 for 45 seconds each, rather than 2 for 30 second, then 1 minute each in 30DS.
Some of the moves are repeats from 30DS…off the top of my head, you’ll see skaters, shadow boxing, pushups, side lunge with anterior raises (the WORST). But there are a bunch of new moves, too.
I find that the hardest circuit is the first. The 30DS felt like it built up to the last circuit being the toughest. So far, in Level 1, the first circuit is hard, the second is almost a cool down for me, and the third amps it up a bit before the end.
I’m honestly puzzled as to why RI30 doesn’t get as much fanfare as 30DS…but I guess to each their own! I have been posting my progress pictures (down 40 pounds since February!) , and will continue to post after I complete RI30.

I love Ripped in 30! I have 30 Day Shred too but also got bored with it and it became too easy. I bought Ripped in 30 and 6 Week 6-Pack to really get in shape the summer before my wedding, but it was really to prep for my honeymoon when I would be wearing a bikini 🙂 I was already in good shape and mixing those 2 dvds in with running helped me go from about 130 down to 120. It was probably the best shape I have ever been in. I would highly recommend Ripped in 30.

I love ripped in 30. I haven’t done the 30DS, apparently RI30 is a little harder? i did it a couple of months ago, only got up to level 3 before life got in the way, but I will be starting again tomorrow as i have exactly 4 weeks tomorrow until my first fitting, if i don’t lose weight i have to get my dress let out so hopefully i can stick with it, i saw great results from last time.

I like Ripped in 30. I’m on week 4 and yes, there’s less jumping than 30DS (thank god). Week 3 is terrible. Everything is quads quads quads and I do NOT need to work on my quads any more. FFS.

I LOVE Ripped in 30. I did 30DS a year ago, and I got into great shape from it, but it did get a bit boring, especially when I tried to do it again.
Then I discovered RI30, and I love it even more! I just finished level one today and am looking forward to level two. I already feel a lot stronger, though I did repeat level one twice as I was out of town on holiday for a long time.
I like that there are four workouts instead of three, and I like the shorter bursts of each workout. I really haven’t gotten bored yet. On 30DS I used to mute the video after the first day and listen to an audiobook because I was tired of hearing the same thing, but I haven’t even done that with RI30.
I can definitely see myself repeating this series more than I can with 30DS, though I still do love 30DS.
