I haven’t personally visited that resort yet, but I did a wedding there last year, and it went very well. The bride and groom sent several photos upon their return-it was a really beautiful wedding.

We’re touring Jamaica for 4 days next month. If the RIU is on the list, I can post some photos and a review upon my return.

I attended a wedding there. It was nice. The ceremony was not the best location. . it was kind of close to the building. There were people walking along the beach behind the bride and groom. . but I think you will get that almost anywhere. It was a fun resort and there was lots to do. I think the bride and groom were very happy with the location. And despite the photos on the website… the building is purple! lol. That was one thing the bride said as soon as we got off the bus “It’s purple!”.  lol. it looks white in the photos.

We had a lot of fun.   🙂

Thanks! No problem about the photo and feedback! That is what the hive is all about!! 🙂
I believe there are a few places at the resort for ceremonys. One was in the garden in a gazebo and in the pic was at the very edge of the resort they put up the arch. I can’t recall where that gazebo is that you posted a pic of. here is a map of the resort…

The Star is where the ceremony was. Definatley quiet and away from everything. The pool close to there is the quietest too.

I went there in 2006, right after it first opened, for a week long vacation.  The resort was really really nice and has an open-air lobby.  And yes, the building is a light purple color rather than white.  I recall it being about a 1.5-2 hour bus ride from the airport in Montego Bay.  It is a pretty close drive to nearby attractions (ex. Dunn River falls) but not walking distance; plus, you can’t really go anywhere outside of the resort on your own anyway.  Let me know if you’d like any more info!

We went there in in 2008. It’s far from the airport so I recommend staying at the one in Monetgo Bay, but it was so much fun. We went there for wedding as well.  Let me know if you have any specific questions. Food was good, rooms were clean, people were super friendly and helpful.
