Hey, since I am from Boston, I thought I would help you. AND since I LOOOOOOVE Aruba, I am going to push you hard to go!

First of all, it IS worth it! Aruba is GORGEOUS. The beaches are pristine, the food is great, the island is safe enough so you can leave your resort and go to restaurants/bars off site. I have never stayed at the RIU, but I can tell you that it is GINORMOUS. It gets mixed reviews. It is beautiful. The pool is amazing, but the beach is a little smaller. I also hear that some people don’t like that you need to always be dressed up for meals. That wouldn’t bother me so much, especially for dinner. I actually don’t know if that includes lunch.

Just remember though, because it is such a large hotel, it may not feel as “tropical” as some of the other hotels, such as the Divi Aruba All-Inclusive which is a low rise and you literally walk out your door onto the beach. Whereas at the RIU you are in a building with several floors and long hallways, etc. But if that does not bother you I say go for it!

Because the flights are insanley expensive, if you don’t care about getting a direct flight (most fly out from Boston on Saturday mornings around 7am) then opt for flying out on a weekday. But you will have to take some stops and it could take all day to get there. Also, I would go for at least 10 days if you can afford it. Trust me, you won’t want to leave!

All I can say is that Aruba is seriously amazing. It is 100% out of the hurricane belt, the weather is PERFECT, average being around 88 and sunny with those amazing tradewinds that keep you feeling cool.

I also suggest looking at the Divi Aruba All-Inclusive and the Holiday Inn Sunpree if you want all-inclusive.

Good luck! Let me know if I can help you with anything else! 🙂

YEA!!  I’m getting married at the WESTIN in Aruba this MAY!!  The Rui is right next to the Westin and I love that area!!  To be honest though, I wouldn’t do all inclusive because there are so many gret places to eat in that vicinity or even downtown!  I went this past Aug for a site visit and had a wonderful time!!  If you check out my site there are pictures (you can even see the RUI in my pictures because of the Westin!)

I hope it works out for you whatever you choose!!  It’ll be so much fun regardless!
