desertgypsy :  oh Mann I feel you.  I’m super road ragey.  Last office Christmas party our director told a story how he saw me driving to work, wet hair (must have been running Late lol) cigarette in mouth, hanging out of my window flipping someone off.  He thought it was hilarious but I was slightly mortified haha.

My drive to work in the morning is 25 minutes which sometimes inexplicably becomes 40 minutes.  My drive home is 40 minutes but sometimes inexplicably becomes an hour.  I alternate between listening to podcasts and calling a friend on the hands free to chat.  Helps me not care about the time.

desertgypsy :  instead of screaming, I sing πŸ˜‚

Like I make up songs basically cussing everyone out while I drive πŸ˜‚ for example, I’ll start singing “I f**king hate this b**ch in front of me and if she taps her brakes again I’m gonna cry” πŸ˜‚ it sounds silly but that’s why it works for me, instead of getting all worked up I just end up laughing uncontrollably at myself πŸ˜‚

I have I have a very easy commute less than a five minute drive, usually I will walk to work other than on Fridays that way I go grocery shopping before I come home than by the time I’m done grocery shopping I’m stuck in rush hour just listening to my favourite music helps

This is how I deal with it – releasing my rage within the safety of my car.

I have serious road rage and I find that listening to music helps. Sometimes it calms me down, sometimes I can pretend I’m singing along instead of yelling at someone.

desertgypsy :  I have to catch two buses for my commute and takes me at least 1 hour each way. I can be a bit of a back seat driver though and will rage at how stupid other drivers can be lol. After seeing so many stupid acts it makes me almost not want to learn how to drive…

I don’t typically get road rage. I get pedestrian rage when a group of four people walk side-by-side–like they are the girls from Sex and the City–and take up the whole damn sidewalk… And double strollers. Stack your children, or walk faster! lol.

desertgypsy :  Oooooh is this beautiful park Zion? As a tourist having visited some of Southern Utah’s amazing parks I do kind of understand being so blinded by the sheer beauty that the driving itself is a distracting annoyance to deal with! BUT, I always try to drive at least the speed limit or pull over to not annoy others. LA bee here… What helps me is to leave early if I have to get to my destination at a certain time, bring a a good hot cup of coffee for good mood and either blast my favorite music, listen to an audio book (which is very helpful because you almost don’t want to get to your destination soon), or listen to TED talks on YouTube (or whatever else).

I’m in NJ aka the most densely populated state. I need advice too because I literally hate every single person on the road at all times lol

I live in NYC and don’t currently have a car of my own, so I just take public transportation. Rail rage, perhaps? I spend my commute time each day (about 3 hours total per day) reading and raging at the commuters around me mentally. “Oi, there’s a person right here don’t stand on my foot!” “Oh my god, people at rush hour in NYC?! Who would have thought it possible?!”
