I’m doing exactly this! I’m planning to buy chenille or microfleece robes from LaSenza or the like, in white, and having their initials monogrammed on the breast. I’m not sure we’ll use them for photos, maybe, but really, I think it would be a cool and functionnal gift, hell, I’d LOVE to receive that, lol. I wouldn’t wear a silky one though, nor one that said ‘bridesmaid’ but that’s just my preference. It’s like having some picture frame engraved with someone else’s initials and wedding date on it… I wouldn’t really use it.

i got ours from etsy. our colors were navy gold and pink so you can tell i couldnt really stick to exactly that, instead i got a color that matched each girls personality/fav color. (guest pics)

I really like robes, but in my case I know my bridesmaids would be uncomfortable in them (not to mention two of the four are “bridesmen”) so it’s not going to be an option for my bridal party gifts!
But I do recommend Etsy to find some cheap and nice ones, I have seen a lot on there!!

@wifegoodman: I love those robes!! Do you happen to still have the link to the etsy seller you used? I hadn’t considered doing different colors before seeing yours but the variety looks really good!

I am planning on doing something similar for my maids!

I think it’s a great idea however I personally wouldn’t want one if it said bridesmaid on the back. =]

i have a spa robe (waffle weave) and i love it. i have satin robes but i find that they don’t allow you to breath as well as the cotton ones.

Yes! Got my bridal party robes – white, waffle spa robes, on sale at Amazon for $14 a piece. I’m having their initials engraved on the breast in wedding colors, coral or teal. While I think it would make for the cutest pics I also think the girls would love them.
Also gifting their wedding jewelery, dresses and a bridesmaid survival kit (lots of little goodies for the big day, makeup, candle, candy, swimsuit bags, pashminas, certificate for massage, etc).

I want to give robes as Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts too! I’m saving this for future reference!

I plan on doing robes for my bridesmaids as well. I was looking for a light material since my wedding is in June as well. I plan on ordering them through weddingprepgals.com Definitely worth checking it out!

I’ve been looking at this Etsy seller – her prices are fabulous, and the robes and the patterns look so pretty.

Xheck out personalizationmall.com. Tons of bridesmaid gift ideas including robes you can personalize. I decided against the robes because I knew my girls would never use them again after wedding day and if I am spending that kind of money on a gift I want it to be useful. Davidsbridal.com also has nice robes. I decided to get my 7 girls each a tote bag personalized and in it put a bridesmaid frame, the necklace and earrings to wear on wedding day (I picked stuff I am certian they will all wear again), and Im putting together a little bridesmaid survival kit I found on pinterest thats super cute (hair pins, bandaids, lint roller, nail polish, cotton balls, q tips, safety pins and a small bottle of wine in each one). I spent a fortune on each girl!

@BookishBelle: Do you need another bridesmaid? 🙂 Your thank you gifts sound amazing, especially Birchbox. I didn’t know what it was and had to Google it but once I saw how cool it was I had to ask if you were in need of an additional bridesmaid…lol. I know they’ll love their gifts.
