Does her website have bridal shops that carry her lines listed? I know it’s not as simple as looking online, but it might be worth checking out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Robin is, in fact, a female.

Hi Ladies!

I just got a Robin Jillian gown as well. Have no idea if he/she is a male/female ๐Ÿ™‚ I too have been looking for pictures online because I want to see my dress again, but I can’t find them anywhere! Mine is a lace/beaded top with a satin belt and a plain skirt. Buttons all the way down the back. I love it ๐Ÿ™‚

Robin Jillian wedding gowns are AMAZING and so unique. I do know that if you have the store where you got your gown email the designer they WILL send you a picture.

I just found a Robin Jillian dress that I loved and being that my mom is out of town, I emailed the designer to see if she could send me a picture.  I got a very rude email back (see below).  One would think that with the economy the way it is people would be more helpful, etc.  I will never buy a Robin Jillian dress and would tell my friends (many of whom are looking for dresses right now) about my experience and to stay away…

If you read the FAQ section at http://www.robinjillian.com you will see that this designer has a very strong policy against distribution of pictures. She has this policy since there are many Chinese sites on the internet that make inferior copies (knock offs) of any wedding gown from a picture. These internet copies always seem to use grossly inferior materials and never do the detailed inner construction of our originals and therefore damage the entire brand’s image.  Additionally, the style numbers you provided are the retail store’s stock numbers not the wholesale re-order numbers we would need to even know which gowns you are talking about.

I do know that the designer has approved of pictures when the customer has paid the store a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 (to be applied to the purchase of either gown when purchased within 10 days) so you may want to offer this to the store.

I love her designs! I’m sorry she was rude :(. I know where I purchased my gown once you had paid for it, they would allow photos of you in it.

@Miss. Sugarplum:

Your dress description sounds exactly like a RJ dress I’m considering – but havign the same problem of not having a picture of it.  I want to send pictures of my two favorite dresses to my mom who lives out of State.  Now that you have your dress (I’m assuming?) do you have a picture of it that you could share?  I would SO appreciate being able to see the dress again!!

@RosieS

Miss Sugarplum’s dress sounds exactly like my dress.  I would love to see wedding day photos as well.  My wedding isn’t until May but I can e-mail you a picture of me in my dress at the store to show your mom if you give me your e-mail address.  It’s a decent picture, taken with my cell phone but at least could give her the idea.  Unfortunately it doesn’t show the buttons in the back which are so pretty and classic.

I am curious if one of the dresses I loved is a Robin Jillian, I tried on this dress at a salon, but they wouldn’t tell me the name of the designer (don’t want you to go shop around for a lower price) and when I called again to see if they can tell me more info so I can find a pic online to remind myself what it looked like, they gave this whole rant that this designer does not post pics of their dresses and the store is not allowed to photograph the dresses unless a customer purchases it.

I’m a bit torn, because I really like this dress, but I am just the type of person that even when I find the dress, I WILL have to go home and sleep on it. And that’s really hard to do when they won’t let me take pics wearing the dress, and the designer doesn’t even have pics on the model I can look at to remind myself of the details.

So I will probably go back to try this dress on, but am not sure if I can commit to a dress that I can’t even see a corporate pic of!

Does anyone know of any other designers that are this strict with not even posting pics of their own dresses on their website?

I had the same experience with my Robin Jillian so I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who got the run around with photos.  I was allowed to take photos of myself in my dress after I bought it but I would love to see photos of the dress with various alteration options, etc.  But the salon I bought it at took the tags off and only have their model numbers, not RJ’s so there’s no way for me to even track down others who have the same gown.  Very frustrating.  I understand why they feel they have to do it but it’s certainly not a great customer shopping experience.  I had never heard of this designer before I bought my dress and I’m guessing it’s because they keep things so close to the vest.

Here is a photo of me in my Robbin Jillian.  I had the same experience as many of you!  It was so frustrating!!!  Sorry the photo is so dark… I’m still waiting on the professional pictures… ๐Ÿ™‚  Also, it has a sweetheart neckline which is hard to see since my hair is in the way.
