I’m doing well planning my July wedding, but I’m having trouble finding a role for my sister-in-law who is deaf. I am not very close with her, although we get along well. I have 7 bridesmaids already, so I don’t want to add her there. I’ve considered not having her “do” anything, but she said she would like to participate. I asked her what she would like to do and she hasn’t gotten back to me.
Does anyone have an idea of what role I could ask her to do?

Does she sign — What about doing a reading with someone? She could simultaneously sign while someone else “translated”/read for those who don’t know ASL?

Do you have someone to get mani/pedi with already? or maybe just asking her to hang out with you and the others the morning of?

Is someone doing a reading? Maybe she could sign the readings as its being read.
If you are doing a candle ceremony or something similar maybe you could ask her to set up the candles at the beginning?

I agree with the reading but would have her sign first because she would be doing the reading. THEN have someone read it aloud.

This is similar to what PPs have said about the reading, but if you’re having a song played for a slideshow/unity candle/etc. she could perhaps sign the words of a song too. Or she could be a guestbook/gift table attendant, especially if she can read lips
