Mine is May 17th! I am in the same bought ( excited but so stressed). Due to unforseen circumstances we had to move up the wedding date in Jan so I only have had a couple months to plan but it has gone pretty well. I have learned some un-fun things about people around me during the whole process. I am so stressed that I won’t get it all done or that I’m missing something I should be doing. I will keep my fingers crossed you get your dress.

-booked my: venue, photographer, hair appts, officiant, caterer

– wedding dress

-bridesmaids dresses

– sent out invites

– bought: all my centerpieces, decorations etc, card box, aisle runner

– picked up my hubby-to-bes wedding band last night

Left to Do:

– go buy my shoes

– finish my DIY guest book/scrapbook

– buy my thank you gifts

– order my wedding band

– finalize my flowers

Me!!! We’d originally planned on June but ended up picking Memorial Day weekend by accident. ( didn’t realize it was a holiday until after we’d reserved it but it works out better that way anyway because the church doesn’t allow Saturday weddings and the Monday off is making a Sunday wedding a lot easier. 😛 I’m slowly calming down from my rush of panic at all the early planning, but having a mild panic moment now when the guest list just shot up 20 people. Yikes!

anyway, what I have done so far:

-booked ceremony and reception sites (both in the same church)

-got my dress and shoes

-got the rings

-sent out the invites

-got the caterer

-got the cake (grooms cake will probably be done by the same lady)

-got my officiant

-got the photographer

what I still need to do:

-finish the centerpieces (and get the stuff to make more. More people means more tables means more centerpieces. Yikes!)

-finalize the catering

-grooms cake

-buy FI’s suit

-design the bookmarks we’re using for favors and get those printed.

-design the programs and print

-confirm the extra tables with the church

I think that’s it…

Yay, date twins! We chose May 25, since it makes it easier for out-of-town family to travel without taking time off. (When you have a sister getting married in another state in September… making it easier for family is very important!)

I went with a venue where almost everything is all-inclusive. It makes it much easier for me since I stress a lot over little details!

What I’ve done:

  • Booked ceremony/reception sites which includes catering, set up, tear down, flowers, decorations, etc
  • Decided on centerpieces/table settings
  • Got my dress and shoes
  • Had the dress altered (still need to put a new ribbon on it, a blue one, once the ribbon comes in)
  • Got my ring
  • Sent out invites
  • Got the officiant (a friend)
  • Hired the photographer (a friend – the only friend we’re actually paying, the others will get nice gifts)
  • Got the ceremony musician (a friend)
  • Got my hairstylist/make up artist (a cousin/friend)
  • Designed and ordered guestbook
  • Ordered thank you notes (since we’ve already received 4 gifts!)
  • Reserved the B&B for our honeymoon

What I still need to do:

  • Order FI’s suit (he’s still deciding between one he just bought last year or getting a new one)
  • Decide on favors
  • Decide what the ceremony layout will be – it’s outdoors and we’re arriving by boat, so it’s going to be very unique!
  • Decide which cake flavors we want and tell our venue/caterer
  • Design/print programs
  • Edit/confirm ceremony order and readings
  • Call those who don’t RSVP by May 1 to see if they’re coming
  • Decide on table seating and create table numbers/escort cards
  • Buy plane tickets and reserve rental car for honeymoon
  • Set up rehearsal dinner/rehearsal
  • Buy/make all the bridesmaids gifts and thank you gifts for friends helping out in our special day

I feel pretty good as of now. I got engaged on December 4th, so I feel like I’ve gotten a lot done in this short amount of time!

deedee76:  I hope everything works out for you. Just remember to take deep breaths and stay calm. 🙂 Good luck finding the new dress! The important thing is that you are marrying the love of your life, everything else will not seem as important in the years to come! I try to remember that every time I start getting stressed out. Sometimes it helps, other times I just continue to stress out. :-p

deedee76:  Aw, thanks. I’m glad you like the idea. Living near a body of water has its benefits. 🙂
